Al-Qur'an Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse 76

Az-Zukhruf [43]: 76 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَمَا ظَلَمْنٰهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْا هُمُ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ (الزخرف : ٤٣)

ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ
We wronged them
walākin
وَلَٰكِن
but
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they were
humu
هُمُ
themselves
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
wrongdoers

Transliteration:

Wa maa zalamnaahum wa laakin kaanoo humuz zaalimeen (QS. az-Zukhruf:76)

English / Sahih Translation:

And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers. (QS. Az-Zukhruf, ayah 76)

We did not do injustice to them, rather, they themselves were the unjust.

means, by their committing wrong actions after proof had been established against them and Messengers had been sent to them, but they rejected them and rebelled, so they are to be punished accordingly. And your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) servants
