Al-Qur'an Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse 16
Az-Zukhruf [43]: 16 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
اَمِ اتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنٰتٍ وَّاَصْفٰىكُمْ بِالْبَنِيْنَ ۗ (الزخرف : ٤٣)

- ittakhadha
- ٱتَّخَذَ
- has He taken
- mimmā
- مِمَّا
- of what
- yakhluqu
- يَخْلُقُ
- He has created
- banātin
- بَنَاتٍ
- daughters
- wa-aṣfākum
- وَأَصْفَىٰكُم
- and He has chosen (for) you
- bil-banīna
- بِٱلْبَنِينَ
- sons
Transliteration:
Amit takhaza mimmaa yakhluqu banaatinw wa asfaakum bilbaneen(QS. az-Zukhruf:16)
English / Sahih Translation:
Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons? (QS. Az-Zukhruf, ayah 16)

This is a denunciation of them in the strongest terms, as He goes on to say;
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَنِ مَثَلًإ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
