Al-Qur'an Surah Ash-Shuraa Verse 46

Ash-Shuraa [42]: 46 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِّنْ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ يَنْصُرُوْنَهُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَمَنْ يُّضْلِلِ اللّٰهُ فَمَا لَهٗ مِنْ سَبِيْلٍ ۗ (الشورى : ٤٢)

wamā
وَمَا: And not

kāna
كَانَ: will be

lahum
لَهُم: for them

min
مِّنْ: any

awliyāa
أَوْلِيَآءَ: protector

yanṣurūnahum
يَنصُرُونَهُم: (who) will help them

min
مِّن: besides

dūni
دُونِ: besides

l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۗ: Allah

waman
وَمَن: And whom

yuḍ'lili
يُضْلِلِ: Allah lets go astray

l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ: Allah lets go astray

famā
فَمَا: then not

lahu
لَهُۥ: for him

min
مِن: any

sabīlin
سَبِيلٍ: way

Transliteration:

Wa maa kaana lahum min awliyaaa'a yansuroonahum min doonil laah; wa mai yudlilil laahu famaa lahoo min sabeel (QS. aš-Šūrā:46)

English / Sahih Translation:

And there will not be for them any allies to aid them other than Allah. And whoever Allah sends astray – for him there is no way. (QS. Ash-Shuraa, ayah 46)

And for them there will not be any friends who may help them besides Allah. And the one whom Allah lets go astray, for him there is no way (to save himself).

They will have no protectors to help them against Allah. And whoever Allah leaves to stray, for them there is no way.

They shall have no protectors to help them against Allah. For he whom Allah causes to go astray will have no way to save himself.

And they had no friends to help them against Allah; and there is no way for one whom Allah sends astray.

And they will surely have no guardians to help them apart from God (only He is the Guardian with power to help His servants, as He wills). Whoever God leads astray, he can no longer have a way (to guidance and eternal happiness).

Amatul Rahman Omar

They will have no protecting-friends to help them apart from Allâh. And there is no way (of escape left) for him whom Allâh forsakes and adjudges as lost.

English Literal

And (there) were none from guardians/allies from other than God for them, they give them victory/aid from other than God, and whom God misguides, so (there is) no way/path for him (no escape for him).

And they had no friends to help them against Allah; and there is no way for one whom Allah sends astray.

And thou wilt see them brought before it, humbling themselves because of abasement, looking with a faint glance. And those who believe will say: Surely the losers are they who lose themselves and their followers on the Resurrection day. Now surely the iniquitous are in lasting chastisement.

Tafsir jalalayn

And they have no guardians to help them besides God, that is to say, other than Him, to ward off His chastisement from them, and whomever God leads astray has no course [of action]', no route to the truth in this world or to Paradise in the Hereafter.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنْ أَوْلِيَاء يَنصُرُونَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ

And they will have no protectors to help them other than Allah.

means, no one to save them from the punishment and torment which they are suffering.

وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِن سَبِيلٍ

And he whom Allah sends astray, for him there is no way.

means, no salvation
