Al-Qur'an Surah Ash-Shuraa Verse 27
Ash-Shuraa [42]: 27 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
۞ وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللّٰهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهٖ لَبَغَوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَلٰكِنْ يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا يَشَاۤءُ ۗاِنَّهٗ بِعِبَادِهٖ خَبِيْرٌۢ بَصِيْرٌ (الشورى : ٤٢)

Transliteration:
Wa law basatal laahur rizqa li'ibaadihee labaghaw fil ardi wa laakiny yunazzilu biqadarim maa yashaaa'; innahoo bi'ibaadihee Khabeerum Baseer(QS. aš-Šūrā:27)
English / Sahih Translation:
And if Allah had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends [it] down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is, of His servants, Aware and Seeing. (QS. Ash-Shuraa, ayah 27)

Should Allah expand the provision for His servants (to its full extent), they would spread mischief on earth; but He sends down what He wills in (due) measure. Surely, with regard to His slaves, He is All-Aware, Ever-Watchful.

Had Allah given abundant provisions to ˹all˺ His servants, they would have certainly transgressed throughout the land. But He sends down whatever He wills in perfect measure. He is truly All-Aware, All-Seeing of His servants.

If God were to give in abundance to His creatures they would fill the earth with oppression. So He gives according to measure as He will. He knows (what is good for) His creatures. He is all-aware and all-seeing.

If God were always to provide for (all of) His servants in great abundance, they would certainly have transgressed all bounds on the earth, but He sends it down in due measure as He wills. Surely He is fully aware of His servants, and sees them well.

And if Allâh were to grant abundant provision for all His people, they would certainly commit rebellious transgression in the land. But as it is He sends it down according to a set and proper measure as He deems fit. He is indeed Well-Aware of His people (and) All-Seeing (of their condition).

And if God spread/extended the provision to His worshippers/slaves, they would have oppressed/transgressed in the earth/Planet Earth, and but He descends with a measure/predestiny what He wills/wants, that He truly is with His worshippers/slaves expert/experienced, seeing/knowing .

If God were to increase the provision to His servants, they would transgress on earth; but He sends down in precise measure whatever He wills. Surely, regarding His servants, He is Expert and Observant.
Tafsir jalalayn
For were God to extend His provision to His servants, [to] all of them, they would, all of them, surely become covetous, in other words, they would become tyrants, in the earth; but He sends down (read yunzilu or yunazzilu) of provisions, in the measure that He will, thus extending it for some of His servants to the exclusion of others -- and from [such] extending [of provision to some] emerges tyranny. Surely He is Aware, Seer of His servants.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ لَبَغَوْا فِي الاَْرْضِ
And if Allah were to extend the provision for His servants, they would surely rebel in the earth,
means, `if We gave them more provision than they need, this would make them rebel and transgress against one another in an arrogant and insolent manner.'
وَلَكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا يَشَاء
إِنَّهُ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرٌ بَصِيرٌ
but He sends down by measure as He wills. Verily, He is, in respect of His servants, the Well-Aware, the All-Seer.
means, but He gives them provision according to what is in their best interests, and He knows best about that. So He makes rich those who deserve to be rich, and He makes poor those who deserve to be poor
