51

وَاِذَآ اَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْاِنْسَانِ اَعْرَضَ وَنَاٰ بِجَانِبِهٖۚ وَاِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُوْ دُعَاۤءٍ عَرِيْضٍ ٥١

wa-idhā
وَإِذَآ
And when
anʿamnā
أَنْعَمْنَا
We bestow favor
ʿalā
عَلَى
upon
l-insāni
ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ
man
aʿraḍa
أَعْرَضَ
he turns away
wanaā
وَنَـَٔا
and distances himself
bijānibihi
بِجَانِبِهِۦ
and distances himself
wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
but when
massahu
مَسَّهُ
touches him
l-sharu
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
fadhū
فَذُو
then (he is) full
duʿāin
دُعَآءٍ
(of) supplication
ʿarīḍin
عَرِيضٍ
lengthy
And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 51)
Tafsir
52

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُمْ بِهٖ مَنْ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِيْ شِقَاقٍۢ بَعِيْدٍ ٥٢

Say
ara-aytum
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
"You see
in
إِن

كَانَ
it is

مِنْ
from
ʿindi
عِندِ
from
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
thumma
ثُمَّ
then
kafartum
كَفَرْتُم
you disbelieve
bihi
بِهِۦ
in it
man
مَنْ
who
aḍallu
أَضَلُّ
(is) more astray
mimman
مِمَّنْ
than (one) who
huwa
هُوَ
he
فِى
(is) in
shiqāqin
شِقَاقٍۭ
opposition
baʿīdin
بَعِيدٍ
far?"
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Quran] is from Allah and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension?" (QS. [41] Fussilat: 52)
Tafsir
53

سَنُرِيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِنَا فِى الْاٰفَاقِ وَفِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتّٰى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ اَنَّهُ الْحَقُّۗ اَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ اَنَّهٗ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ ٥٣

سَنُرِيهِمْ
Soon We will show them
āyātinā
ءَايَٰتِنَا
Our Signs
فِى
in
l-āfāqi
ٱلْءَافَاقِ
the horizons
wafī
وَفِىٓ
and in
anfusihim
أَنفُسِهِمْ
themselves
ḥattā
حَتَّىٰ
until
yatabayyana
يَتَبَيَّنَ
becomes clear
lahum
لَهُمْ
to them
annahu
أَنَّهُ
that it
l-ḥaqu
ٱلْحَقُّۗ
(is) the truth
awalam
أَوَلَمْ
Is (it) not
yakfi
يَكْفِ
sufficient
birabbika
بِرَبِّكَ
concerning your Lord
annahu
أَنَّهُۥ
that He
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
kulli
كُلِّ
all
shayin
شَىْءٍ
things
shahīdun
شَهِيدٌ
a Witness?
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness? (QS. [41] Fussilat: 53)
Tafsir
54

اَلَآ اِنَّهُمْ فِيْ مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْ لِّقَاۤءِ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّهٗ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّحِيْطٌ ࣖ ٥٤

Unquestionably

doubt

مِّن
about
liqāi
لِّقَآءِ
(the) meeting
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْۗ
(with) their Lord?

أَلَآ
Unquestionably
innahu
إِنَّهُۥ
indeed He
bikulli
بِكُلِّ
(is) of all
shayin
شَىْءٍ
things
muḥīṭun
مُّحِيطٌۢ
encompassing
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 54)
Tafsir
