41

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِالذِّكْرِ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ ۗوَاِنَّهٗ لَكِتٰبٌ عَزِيْزٌ ۙ ٤١

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
bil-dhik'ri
بِٱلذِّكْرِ
in the Reminder
lammā
لَمَّا
when
jāahum
جَآءَهُمْۖ
it comes to them
wa-innahu
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed it
lakitābun
لَكِتَٰبٌ
(is) surely a Book
ʿazīzun
عَزِيزٌ
mighty
Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message [i.e., the Quran] after it has come to them... And indeed, it is a mighty Book. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 41)
Tafsir
42

لَّا يَأْتِيْهِ الْبَاطِلُ مِنْۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا مِنْ خَلْفِهٖ ۗتَنْزِيْلٌ مِّنْ حَكِيْمٍ حَمِيْدٍ ٤٢

لَّا
Not
yatīhi
يَأْتِيهِ
comes to it
l-bāṭilu
ٱلْبَٰطِلُ
the falsehood
min
مِنۢ
from
bayni
بَيْنِ
before it
yadayhi
يَدَيْهِ
before it
walā
وَلَا
and not
min
مِنْ
from
khalfihi
خَلْفِهِۦۖ
behind it
tanzīlun
تَنزِيلٌ
A Revelation
min
مِّنْ
from
ḥakīmin
حَكِيمٍ
(the) All-Wise
ḥamīdin
حَمِيدٍ
(the) Praiseworthy
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 42)
Tafsir
43

مَا يُقَالُ لَكَ اِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيْلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ ۗاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُوْ مَغْفِرَةٍ وَّذُوْ عِقَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ ٤٣

Not

مَا

قَدْ
was said

قِيلَ
was said
lilrrusuli
لِلرُّسُلِ
to the Messengers

rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
ladhū
لَذُو
(is) Possessor
maghfiratin
مَغْفِرَةٍ
(of) forgiveness
wadhū
وَذُو
and Possessor
ʿiqābin
عِقَابٍ
(of) penalty
alīmin
أَلِيمٍ
painful
Nothing is said to you, [O Muhammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 43)
Tafsir
44

وَلَوْ جَعَلْنٰهُ قُرْاٰنًا اَعْجَمِيًّا لَّقَالُوْا لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتْ اٰيٰتُهٗ ۗ ءَاَ۬عْجَمِيٌّ وَّعَرَبِيٌّ ۗ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا هُدًى وَّشِفَاۤءٌ ۗوَالَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَّهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًىۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِنْ مَّكَانٍۢ بَعِيْدٍ ࣖ ٤٤

walaw
وَلَوْ
And if
jaʿalnāhu
جَعَلْنَٰهُ
We (had) made it
qur'ānan
قُرْءَانًا
a Quran
aʿjamiyyan
أَعْجَمِيًّا
(in) a foreign (language)
laqālū
لَّقَالُوا۟
they (would have) said
lawlā
لَوْلَا
"Why not
fuṣṣilat
فُصِّلَتْ
are explained in detail
āyātuhu
ءَايَٰتُهُۥٓۖ
its verses?
āʿ'jamiyyun
ءَا۬عْجَمِىٌّ
(Is it) a foreign (language)
waʿarabiyyun
وَعَرَبِىٌّۗ
and an Arab?"
qul
قُلْ
Say
huwa
هُوَ
"It (is)
lilladhīna
لِلَّذِينَ
for those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
hudan
هُدًى
a guidance
washifāon
وَشِفَآءٌۖ
and a healing"
wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
believe
فِىٓ
in
ādhānihim
ءَاذَانِهِمْ
their ears
waqrun
وَقْرٌ
(is) deafness
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
and it
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
(is) for them
ʿaman
عَمًىۚ
blindness
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
yunādawna
يُنَادَوْنَ
are being called
min
مِن
from
makānin
مَّكَانٍۭ
a place
baʿīdin
بَعِيدٍ
far"
And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Quran, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe – in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 44)
Tafsir
45

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيْهِ ۗوَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۗوَاِنَّهُمْ لَفِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيْبٍ ٤٥

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
ātaynā
ءَاتَيْنَا
We gave
mūsā
مُوسَى
Musa
l-kitāba
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
fa-ukh'tulifa
فَٱخْتُلِفَ
but disputes arose
fīhi
فِيهِۗ
therein
walawlā
وَلَوْلَا
And had it not been
kalimatun
كَلِمَةٌ
(for) a word
sabaqat
سَبَقَتْ
that preceded
min
مِن
from
rabbika
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
laquḍiya
لَقُضِىَ
surely would have been settled
baynahum
بَيْنَهُمْۚ
between them
wa-innahum
وَإِنَّهُمْ
But indeed they
lafī
لَفِى
surely (are) in
shakkin
شَكٍّ
doubt
min'hu
مِّنْهُ
about it
murībin
مُرِيبٍ
disquieting
And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word [i.e., decree] that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Quran], in disquieting doubt. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 45)
Tafsir
46

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهٖ ۙوَمَنْ اَسَاۤءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۗوَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيْدِ ۔ ٤٦

man
مَّنْ
Whoever
ʿamila
عَمِلَ
does
ṣāliḥan
صَٰلِحًا
righteous deeds
falinafsihi
فَلِنَفْسِهِۦۖ
then it is for his soul;
waman
وَمَنْ
and whoever
asāa
أَسَآءَ
does evil
faʿalayhā
فَعَلَيْهَاۗ
then it is against it
wamā
وَمَا
And not
rabbuka
رَبُّكَ
(is) your Lord
biẓallāmin
بِظَلَّٰمٍ
unjust
lil'ʿabīdi
لِّلْعَبِيدِ
to His slaves
Whoever does righteousness – it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 46)
Tafsir
47

۞ اِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ ۗوَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِنْ ثَمَرٰتٍ ِمّنْ اَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ اُنْثٰى وَلَا تَضَعُ اِلَّا بِعِلْمِهٖ ۗوَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْهِمْ اَيْنَ شُرَكَاۤءِيْۙ قَالُوْٓا اٰذَنّٰكَ مَا مِنَّا مِنْ شَهِيْدٍ ۚ ٤٧

ٱلسَّاعَةِۚ
(of) the Hour
wamā
وَمَا
And not

ثَمَرَٰتٍ
fruits

مِّنْ
from
akmāmihā
أَكْمَامِهَا
their coverings
wamā
وَمَا
and not
taḥmilu
تَحْمِلُ
bears
min
مِنْ
any
unthā
أُنثَىٰ
female
walā
وَلَا
and not
taḍaʿu
تَضَعُ
gives birth
illā
إِلَّا
except
biʿil'mihi
بِعِلْمِهِۦۚ
with His knowledge
wayawma
وَيَوْمَ
And (the) Day
yunādīhim
يُنَادِيهِمْ
He will call them
ayna
أَيْنَ
"Where (are)
shurakāī
شُرَكَآءِى
My partners
qālū
قَالُوٓا۟
They will say
ādhannāka
ءَاذَنَّٰكَ
"We announce (to) You
مَا
not
minnā
مِنَّا
among us
min
مِن
any
shahīdin
شَهِيدٍ
witness"
To Him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]." (QS. [41] Fussilat: 47)
Tafsir
48

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَظَنُّوْا مَا لَهُمْ مِّنْ مَّحِيْصٍ ٤٨

waḍalla
وَضَلَّ
And lost
ʿanhum
عَنْهُم
from them
مَّا
what
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they were
yadʿūna
يَدْعُونَ
invoking
min
مِن
before
qablu
قَبْلُۖ
before
waẓannū
وَظَنُّوا۟
and they (will) be certain
مَا
(that) not
lahum
لَهُم
for them
min
مِّن
any
maḥīṣin
مَّحِيصٍ
place of escape
And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 48)
Tafsir
49

لَا يَسْـَٔمُ الْاِنْسَانُ مِنْ دُعَاۤءِ الْخَيْرِۖ وَاِنْ مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَـُٔوْسٌ قَنُوْطٌ ٤٩

لَّا
(Does) not
yasamu
يَسْـَٔمُ
get tired
l-insānu
ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ
man
min
مِن
of
duʿāi
دُعَآءِ
praying
l-khayri
ٱلْخَيْرِ
(for) the good
wa-in
وَإِن
but if
massahu
مَّسَّهُ
touches him
l-sharu
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
fayaūsun
فَيَـُٔوسٌ
then he gives up hope
qanūṭun
قَنُوطٌ
(and) despairs
Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 49)
Tafsir
50

وَلَىِٕنْ اَذَقْنٰهُ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ضَرَّاۤءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُوْلَنَّ هٰذَا لِيْۙ وَمَآ اَظُنُّ السَّاعَةَ قَاۤىِٕمَةًۙ وَّلَىِٕنْ رُّجِعْتُ اِلٰى رَبِّيْٓ اِنَّ لِيْ عِنْدَهٗ لَلْحُسْنٰىۚ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِمَا عَمِلُوْاۖ وَلَنُذِيْقَنَّهُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيْظٍ ٥٠

wala-in
وَلَئِنْ
And verily, if
adhaqnāhu
أَذَقْنَٰهُ
We let him taste
raḥmatan
رَحْمَةً
mercy
minnā
مِّنَّا
from Us
min
مِنۢ
after
baʿdi
بَعْدِ
after
ḍarrāa
ضَرَّآءَ
an adversity
massathu
مَسَّتْهُ
(has) touched him
layaqūlanna
لَيَقُولَنَّ
he will surely say
hādhā
هَٰذَا
"This (is)
لِى
(due) to me
wamā
وَمَآ
and not
aẓunnu
أَظُنُّ
I think
l-sāʿata
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
qāimatan
قَآئِمَةً
(will be) established
wala-in
وَلَئِن
and if
rujiʿ'tu
رُّجِعْتُ
I am returned
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
rabbī
رَبِّىٓ
my Lord
inna
إِنَّ
indeed
لِى
for me
ʿindahu
عِندَهُۥ
with Him
lalḥus'nā
لَلْحُسْنَىٰۚ
(will be) the best"
falanunabbi-anna
فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ
But We will surely inform
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
bimā
بِمَا
about what
ʿamilū
عَمِلُوا۟
they did
walanudhīqannahum
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم
and We will surely make them taste
min
مِّنْ
of
ʿadhābin
عَذَابٍ
a punishment
ghalīẓin
غَلِيظٍ
severe
And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 50)
