حٰمۤ ۚ ١

Ha, Meem. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 1)
Tafsir
2

تَنْزِيْلٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ ۚ ٢

tanzīlun
تَنزِيلٌ
A revelation
mina
مِّنَ
from
l-raḥmāni
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ
the Most Gracious
l-raḥīmi
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
the Most Merciful
[This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful – (QS. [41] Fussilat: 2)
Tafsir

كِتٰبٌ فُصِّلَتْ اٰيٰتُهٗ قُرْاٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْلَمُوْنَۙ ٣

kitābun
كِتَٰبٌ
A Book
fuṣṣilat
فُصِّلَتْ
are detailed
āyātuhu
ءَايَٰتُهُۥ
its Verses
qur'ānan
قُرْءَانًا
a Quran
ʿarabiyyan
عَرَبِيًّا
(in) Arabic
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
who know
A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Quran for a people who know, (QS. [41] Fussilat: 3)
Tafsir
4

بَشِيْرًا وَّنَذِيْرًاۚ فَاَعْرَضَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ ٤

bashīran
بَشِيرًا
A giver of glad tidings
wanadhīran
وَنَذِيرًا
and a warner;
fa-aʿraḍa
فَأَعْرَضَ
but turn away
aktharuhum
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
most of them
fahum
فَهُمْ
so they
لَا
(do) not
yasmaʿūna
يَسْمَعُونَ
hear
As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 4)
Tafsir

وَقَالُوْا قُلُوْبُنَا فِيْٓ اَكِنَّةٍ مِّمَّا تَدْعُوْنَآ اِلَيْهِ وَفِيْٓ اٰذَانِنَا وَقْرٌ وَّمِنْۢ بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ فَاعْمَلْ اِنَّنَا عٰمِلُوْنَ ٥

waqālū
وَقَالُوا۟
And they say
qulūbunā
قُلُوبُنَا
"Our hearts
فِىٓ
(are) in
akinnatin
أَكِنَّةٍ
coverings
mimmā
مِّمَّا
from what
tadʿūnā
تَدْعُونَآ
you call us
ilayhi
إِلَيْهِ
to it
wafī
وَفِىٓ
and in
ādhāninā
ءَاذَانِنَا
our ears
waqrun
وَقْرٌ
(is) deafness
wamin
وَمِنۢ
and between us
bayninā
بَيْنِنَا
and between us
wabaynika
وَبَيْنِكَ
and between you
ḥijābun
حِجَابٌ
(is) a screen
fa-iʿ'mal
فَٱعْمَلْ
So work
innanā
إِنَّنَا
indeed, we
ʿāmilūna
عَٰمِلُونَ
(are) working"
And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." (QS. [41] Fussilat: 5)

قُلْ اِنَّمَآ اَنَا۟ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوْحٰىٓ اِلَيَّ اَنَّمَآ اِلٰهُكُمْ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌ فَاسْتَقِيْمُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ ۗوَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُشْرِكِيْنَۙ ٦

قُلْ
Say
innamā
إِنَّمَآ
"Only
anā
أَنَا۠
I am
basharun
بَشَرٌ
a man
mith'lukum
مِّثْلُكُمْ
like you
yūḥā
يُوحَىٰٓ
it is revealed
ilayya
إِلَىَّ
to me
annamā
أَنَّمَآ
that
ilāhukum
إِلَٰهُكُمْ
your god
ilāhun
إِلَٰهٌ
(is) God
wāḥidun
وَٰحِدٌ
One;
fa-is'taqīmū
فَٱسْتَقِيمُوٓا۟
so take a Straight Path
ilayhi
إِلَيْهِ
to Him
wa-is'taghfirūhu
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُۗ
and ask His forgiveness"
wawaylun
وَوَيْلٌ
And woe
lil'mush'rikīna
لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ
to the polytheists
Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah (QS. [41] Fussilat: 6)

الَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَهُمْ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ كٰفِرُوْنَ ٧

alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
لَا
(do) not
yu'tūna
يُؤْتُونَ
give
l-zakata
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
wahum
وَهُم
and they
bil-ākhirati
بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
in the Hereafter
hum
هُمْ
they
kāfirūna
كَٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
Those who do not give Zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 7)
Tafsir
8

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُوْنٍ ࣖ ٨

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
waʿamilū
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and do
l-ṣāliḥāti
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
righteous deeds
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
ajrun
أَجْرٌ
(is) a reward
ghayru
غَيْرُ
never ending
mamnūnin
مَمْنُونٍ
never ending
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds – for them is a reward uninterrupted. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 8)

۞ قُلْ اَىِٕنَّكُمْ لَتَكْفُرُوْنَ بِالَّذِيْ خَلَقَ الْاَرْضَ فِيْ يَوْمَيْنِ وَتَجْعَلُوْنَ لَهٗٓ اَنْدَادًا ۗذٰلِكَ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۚ ٩

qul
قُلْ
Say
a-innakum
أَئِنَّكُمْ
"Do you indeed
latakfurūna
لَتَكْفُرُونَ
[surely] disbelieve
bi-alladhī
بِٱلَّذِى
in the One Who
khalaqa
خَلَقَ
created
l-arḍa
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
فِى
in
yawmayni
يَوْمَيْنِ
two periods
watajʿalūna
وَتَجْعَلُونَ
and you set up
lahu
لَهُۥٓ
with Him
andādan
أَندَادًاۚ
rivals?
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
rabbu
رَبُّ
(is the) Lord
l-ʿālamīna
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds"
Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds." (QS. [41] Fussilat: 9)
Tafsir
10

وَجَعَلَ فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ مِنْ فَوْقِهَا وَبٰرَكَ فِيْهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيْهَآ اَقْوَاتَهَا فِيْٓ اَرْبَعَةِ اَيَّامٍۗ سَوَاۤءً لِّلسَّاۤىِٕلِيْنَ ١٠

wajaʿala
وَجَعَلَ
And He placed
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
rawāsiya
رَوَٰسِىَ
firmly-set mountains
min
مِن
above it
fawqihā
فَوْقِهَا
above it
wabāraka
وَبَٰرَكَ
and He blessed
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
waqaddara
وَقَدَّرَ
and determined
fīhā
فِيهَآ
therein
aqwātahā
أَقْوَٰتَهَا
its sustenance
فِىٓ
in
arbaʿati
أَرْبَعَةِ
four
ayyāmin
أَيَّامٍ
periods
sawāan
سَوَآءً
equal
lilssāilīna
لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ
for those who ask
And He placed on it [i.e., the earth] firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction – for [the information of] those who ask. (QS. [41] Fussilat: 10)
Tafsir
