Al-Qur'an Surah Ghafir Verse 6
Ghafir [40]: 6 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَكَذٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اَنَّهُمْ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِۘ (غافر : ٤٠)
- wakadhālika
- وَكَذَٰلِكَ
- And thus
- ḥaqqat
- حَقَّتْ
- has been justified
- kalimatu
- كَلِمَتُ
- (the) Word
- rabbika
- رَبِّكَ
- (of) your Lord
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- against
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوٓا۟
- disbelieved
- annahum
- أَنَّهُمْ
- that they
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (are) companions
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِ
- (of) the Fire
Transliteration:
Wa kazaalika haqqat Kalimatu Rabbika 'alal lazeena kafarooo annahum Ashaabun Naar(QS. Ghāfir:6)
English / Sahih Translation:
And thus has the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord come into effect upon those who disbelieved that they are companions of the Fire. (QS. Ghafir, ayah 6)

And similarly, the word of your Lord has become due against those who disbelieve-that they are the people of the Fire.

And thus was the word of your Lord -- namely, the verse; Assuredly I will fill Hell ... [Q. 11;119] -- fulfilled against those who disbelieve; that they shall be the inhabitants of the Fire (annahum ashbu'l-nri substitutes for kalimatu, `the word').
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
Thus has the Word of your Lord been justified against those who disbelieved, that they will be the dwellers of the Fire.
means, `just as the Word of punishment was justified against those of the past nations who disbelieved, so too is it justified against these disbelievers who have rejected you and gone against you, O Muhammad, and it is even more justified against them, because if they have disbelieved in you, there is no certainty that they will believe in any other Prophet.'
