Al-Qur'an Surah Ghafir Verse 30

Said he who had believed, “I fear for you something like a day of the (disbelieving) groups (of the past),

And the man who believed cautioned, “O my people! I truly fear for you the doom of ˹earlier˺ enemy forces—

And he who had infact believed (in the faith brought by Moses) said, `O my people! I fear lest you should encounter the like of the day (of disaster) which befell (other) parties of people (of the past);

English Literal

And who believed said: "You my nation, that I, I fear on (for) you, equal/alike to day (of) the groups/parties."342

Tafsir jalalayn

Then said he who believed, `O my people! Truly I fear for you [a day] like the day of the factions, in other words, the day of one faction [being destroyed] after another;

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Allah informs,

وَقَالَ الَّذِي امَنَ

And he who believed said;

Here Allah tells us that this righteous man, the believer from among the family of Fir`awn, warned his people of the punishment of Allah in this world and the Hereafter, saying,

يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ الاْاَحْزَابِ



O my people! Verily, I fear for you an end like that day (of disaster) of the groups (of old)!)
