81
وَيُرِيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِهٖۖ فَاَيَّ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ تُنْكِرُوْنَ ٨١
- wayurīkum
- وَيُرِيكُمْ
- And He shows you
- āyātihi
- ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
- His Signs
- fa-ayya
- فَأَىَّ
- Then which
- āyāti
- ءَايَٰتِ
- (of the) Signs
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- tunkirūna
- تُنكِرُونَ
- will you deny?
And He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allah do you deny? (QS. [40] Ghafir: 81)Tafsir
82
اَفَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۗ كَانُوْٓا اَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَاَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَّاٰثَارًا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَمَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَ ٨٢
- afalam
- أَفَلَمْ
- Do they not
- yasīrū
- يَسِيرُوا۟
- travel
- fī
- فِى
- through
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the land
- fayanẓurū
- فَيَنظُرُوا۟
- and see
- kayfa
- كَيْفَ
- how
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- ʿāqibatu
- عَٰقِبَةُ
- (the) end
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- min
- مِن
- (were) before them?
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْۚ
- (were) before them?
- kānū
- كَانُوٓا۟
- They were
- akthara
- أَكْثَرَ
- more numerous
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- than them
- wa-ashadda
- وَأَشَدَّ
- and mightier
- quwwatan
- قُوَّةً
- (in) strength
- waāthāran
- وَءَاثَارًا
- and impressions
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the land
- famā
- فَمَآ
- but not
- aghnā
- أَغْنَىٰ
- availed
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُم
- them
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- yaksibūna
- يَكْسِبُونَ
- earn
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 82)Tafsir
83
فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِ فَرِحُوْا بِمَا عِنْدَهُمْ مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ٨٣
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- Then when
- jāathum
- جَآءَتْهُمْ
- came to them
- rusuluhum
- رُسُلُهُم
- their Messengers
- bil-bayināti
- بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ
- with clear proofs
- fariḥū
- فَرِحُوا۟
- they rejoiced
- bimā
- بِمَا
- in what
- ʿindahum
- عِندَهُم
- they had
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-ʿil'mi
- ٱلْعِلْمِ
- the knowledge
- waḥāqa
- وَحَاقَ
- and enveloped
- bihim
- بِهِم
- them
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- [at it]
- yastahziūna
- يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
- mock
And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 83)Tafsir
84
فَلَمَّا رَاَوْا بَأْسَنَاۗ قَالُوْٓا اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ وَحْدَهٗ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهٖ مُشْرِكِيْنَ ٨٤
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- So when
- ra-aw
- رَأَوْا۟
- they saw
- basanā
- بَأْسَنَا
- Our punishment
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- they said
- āmannā
- ءَامَنَّا
- "We believe
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- waḥdahu
- وَحْدَهُۥ
- Alone
- wakafarnā
- وَكَفَرْنَا
- and we disbelieve
- bimā
- بِمَا
- in what
- kunnā
- كُنَّا
- we used (to)
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with Him
- mush'rikīna
- مُشْرِكِينَ
- associate"
And when they saw Our punishment, they said, "We believe in Allah alone and disbelieve in that which we used to associate with Him." (QS. [40] Ghafir: 84)Tafsir
85
فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنْفَعُهُمْ اِيْمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَاَوْا بَأْسَنَا ۗسُنَّتَ اللّٰهِ الَّتِيْ قَدْ خَلَتْ فِيْ عِبَادِهِۚ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ ࣖ ٨٥

- فَلَمْ
- But did not
- yaku
- يَكُ
- But did not
- yanfaʿuhum
- يَنفَعُهُمْ
- benefit them
- īmānuhum
- إِيمَٰنُهُمْ
- their faith
- lammā
- لَمَّا
- when
- ra-aw
- رَأَوْا۟
- they saw
- basanā
- بَأْسَنَاۖ
- Our punishment
- sunnata
- سُنَّتَ
- (Such is the) Way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- which
- qad
- قَدْ
- (has) indeed
- khalat
- خَلَتْ
- preceded
- fī
- فِى
- among
- ʿibādihi
- عِبَادِهِۦۖ
- His slaves
- wakhasira
- وَخَسِرَ
- And are lost
- hunālika
- هُنَالِكَ
- there
- l-kāfirūna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
- the disbelievers
But never did their faith benefit them once they saw Our punishment. [It is] the established way of Allah which has preceded among His servants. And the disbelievers thereupon lost [all]. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 85)Tafsir
