اِذِ الْاَغْلٰلُ فِيْٓ اَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلٰسِلُۗ يُسْحَبُوْنَۙ ٧١
- idhi
- إِذِ
- When
- l-aghlālu
- ٱلْأَغْلَٰلُ
- the iron collars
- fī
- فِىٓ
- (will be) around
- aʿnāqihim
- أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ
- their necks
- wal-salāsilu
- وَٱلسَّلَٰسِلُ
- and the chains
- yus'ḥabūna
- يُسْحَبُونَ
- they will be dragged
When the shackles are around their necks and the chains; they will be dragged (QS. [40] Ghafir: 71)Tafsir
فِى الْحَمِيْمِ ەۙ ثُمَّ فِى النَّارِ يُسْجَرُوْنَۚ ٧٢
- fī
- فِى
- In
- l-ḥamīmi
- ٱلْحَمِيمِ
- the boiling water;
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِ
- the Fire
- yus'jarūna
- يُسْجَرُونَ
- they will be burned
In boiling water; then in the Fire they will be filled [with flame]. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 72)Tafsir
ثُمَّ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ اَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تُشْرِكُوْنَۙ ٧٣
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- qīla
- قِيلَ
- it will be said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- ayna
- أَيْنَ
- "Where
- mā
- مَا
- (is) that which
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- tush'rikūna
- تُشْرِكُونَ
- associate
Then it will be said to them, "Where is that which you used to associate [with Him in worship] (QS. [40] Ghafir: 73)Tafsir
مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗقَالُوْا ضَلُّوْا عَنَّا بَلْ لَّمْ نَكُنْ نَّدْعُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ شَيْـًٔاۚ كَذٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللّٰهُ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ٧٤

- Other than
- dūni
- دُونِ
- Other than
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah?"
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They will say
- ḍallū
- ضَلُّوا۟
- "They have departed
- ʿannā
- عَنَّا
- from us
- bal
- بَل
- Nay!
- lam
- لَّمْ
- Not
- nakun
- نَكُن
- we used
- nadʿū
- نَّدْعُوا۟
- [we] (to) call
- min
- مِن
- before
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔاۚ
- anything"
- kadhālika
- كَذَٰلِكَ
- Thus
- yuḍillu
- يُضِلُّ
- Allah lets go astray
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah lets go astray
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers
Other than Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything." Thus does Allah put astray the disbelievers. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 74)Tafsir
ذٰلِكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَفْرَحُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَمْرَحُوْنَ ٧٥
- dhālikum
- ذَٰلِكُم
- "That was
- bimā
- بِمَا
- because
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- tafraḥūna
- تَفْرَحُونَ
- rejoice
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- bighayri
- بِغَيْرِ
- without
- l-ḥaqi
- ٱلْحَقِّ
- right
- wabimā
- وَبِمَا
- and because
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- tamraḥūna
- تَمْرَحُونَ
- be insolent
[The angels will say], "That was because you used to exult upon the earth without right and you used to behave insolently. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 75)Tafsir
اُدْخُلُوْٓا اَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ۚفَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِيْنَ ٧٦
- ud'khulū
- ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟
- Enter
- abwāba
- أَبْوَٰبَ
- (the) gates
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (of) Hell
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- (to) abide forever
- fīhā
- فِيهَاۖ
- in it
- fabi'sa
- فَبِئْسَ
- and wretched is
- mathwā
- مَثْوَى
- (the) abode
- l-mutakabirīna
- ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
- (of) the arrogant"
Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant." (QS. [40] Ghafir: 76)Tafsir
فَاصْبِرْ اِنَّ وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ ۚفَاِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِيْ نَعِدُهُمْ اَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَاِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُوْنَ ٧٧
- fa-iṣ'bir
- فَٱصْبِرْ
- So be patient;
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- waʿda
- وَعْدَ
- (the) Promise
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- ḥaqqun
- حَقٌّۚ
- (is) true
- fa-immā
- فَإِمَّا
- And whether
- nuriyannaka
- نُرِيَنَّكَ
- We show you
- baʿḍa
- بَعْضَ
- some
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (of) what
- naʿiduhum
- نَعِدُهُمْ
- We have promised them
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- natawaffayannaka
- نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ
- We cause you to die
- fa-ilaynā
- فَإِلَيْنَا
- then to Us
- yur'jaʿūna
- يُرْجَعُونَ
- they will be returned
So be patient, [O Muhammad]; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 77)Tafsir
وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْهُمْ مَّنْ قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ لَّمْ نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَ ۗوَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُوْلٍ اَنْ يَّأْتِيَ بِاٰيَةٍ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ ۚفَاِذَا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ قُضِيَ بِالْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْمُبْطِلُوْنَ ࣖ ٧٨
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَا
- We have sent
- rusulan
- رُسُلًا
- Messengers
- min
- مِّن
- before you
- qablika
- قَبْلِكَ
- before you
- min'hum
- مِنْهُم
- Among them
- man
- مَّن
- (are) some
- qaṣaṣnā
- قَصَصْنَا
- We have related
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَ
- to you
- wamin'hum
- وَمِنْهُم
- and among them
- man
- مَّن
- (are) some
- lam
- لَّمْ
- not
- naqṣuṣ
- نَقْصُصْ
- We have related
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَۗ
- to you
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- lirasūlin
- لِرَسُولٍ
- for any Messenger
- an
- أَن
- that
- yatiya
- يَأْتِىَ
- he brings
- biāyatin
- بِـَٔايَةٍ
- a Sign
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- bi-idh'ni
- بِإِذْنِ
- by (the) permission
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- So when
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- comes
- amru
- أَمْرُ
- (the) Command
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- quḍiya
- قُضِىَ
- it will be decided
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- in truth
- wakhasira
- وَخَسِرَ
- and will lose
- hunālika
- هُنَالِكَ
- there
- l-mub'ṭilūna
- ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
- the falsifiers
And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you. And it was not for any messenger to bring a sign [or verse] except by permission of Allah. So when the command of Allah comes, it will be concluded [i.e., judged] in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose [all]. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 78)Tafsir
اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَنْعَامَ لِتَرْكَبُوْا مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُوْنَۖ ٧٩
- al-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the One Who
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- made
- lakumu
- لَكُمُ
- for you
- l-anʿāma
- ٱلْأَنْعَٰمَ
- the cattle
- litarkabū
- لِتَرْكَبُوا۟
- that you may ride
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- some of them
- wamin'hā
- وَمِنْهَا
- and some of them
- takulūna
- تَأْكُلُونَ
- you eat
It is Allah who made for you the grazing animals upon which you ride, and some of them you eat. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 79)Tafsir
وَلَكُمْ فِيْهَا مَنَافِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوْا عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِيْ صُدُوْرِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُوْنَۗ ٨٠
- walakum
- وَلَكُمْ
- And for you
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in them
- manāfiʿu
- مَنَٰفِعُ
- (are) benefits
- walitablughū
- وَلِتَبْلُغُوا۟
- and that you may reach
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَا
- through them
- ḥājatan
- حَاجَةً
- a need
- fī
- فِى
- (that is) in
- ṣudūrikum
- صُدُورِكُمْ
- your breasts;
- waʿalayhā
- وَعَلَيْهَا
- and upon them
- waʿalā
- وَعَلَى
- and upon
- l-ful'ki
- ٱلْفُلْكِ
- the ships
- tuḥ'malūna
- تُحْمَلُونَ
- you are carried
And for you therein are [other] benefits and that you may realize upon them a need which is in your breasts; and upon them and upon ships you are carried. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 80)Tafsir
