Al-Qur'an Surah An-Nisa Verse 111
An-Nisa [4]: 111 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَمَنْ يَّكْسِبْ اِثْمًا فَاِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهٗ عَلٰى نَفْسِهٖ ۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًا (النساء : ٤)

Transliteration:
Wa mai yaksib isman fa innamaa yaksibuhoo 'alaa nafsih; wa kaanal laahu 'Aleeman hakeemaa(QS. an-Nisāʾ:111)
English / Sahih Translation:
And whoever earns [i.e., commits] a sin only earns it against himself. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. (QS. An-Nisa, ayah 111)

Tafsir jalalayn
And whoever commits a sin commits it against himself only, since the evil consequences fall on him, harming no one else; and God is ever Knower, Wise, in His actions.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
وَمَن يَكْسِبْ إِثْمًا فَإِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ
And whoever earns sin, he earns it only against himself.
is similar to His statement,
وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى
And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. (35;18)
So no one will avail anyone else. Rather, every soul, and none else, shall carry its own burden.
This is why Allah said,
وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
And Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.
meaning, this occurs due to His knowledge, wisdom, fairness and mercy.
وَمَن يَكْسِبْ خَطِييَةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِ بَرِييًا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلَ بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا
