اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ حَقًّا ۚوَاَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابًا مُّهِيْنًا ١٥١
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those -
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-kāfirūna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
- (are) the disbelievers
- ḥaqqan
- حَقًّاۚ
- truly
- wa-aʿtadnā
- وَأَعْتَدْنَا
- And We have prepared
- lil'kāfirīna
- لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- for the disbelievers
- ʿadhāban
- عَذَابًا
- a punishment
- muhīnan
- مُّهِينًا
- humiliating
Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 151)Tafsir
وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ وَلَمْ يُفَرِّقُوْا بَيْنَ اَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ سَوْفَ يُؤْتِيْهِمْ اُجُوْرَهُمْ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا ࣖ ١٥٢
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- And those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- warusulihi
- وَرُسُلِهِۦ
- and His Messengers
- walam
- وَلَمْ
- and not
- yufarriqū
- يُفَرِّقُوا۟
- they differentiate
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- aḥadin
- أَحَدٍ
- (any) one
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- of them
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- those
- sawfa
- سَوْفَ
- soon
- yu'tīhim
- يُؤْتِيهِمْ
- He will give them
- ujūrahum
- أُجُورَهُمْۗ
- their reward
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And is
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ghafūran
- غَفُورًا
- Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīman
- رَّحِيمًا
- Most Merciful
But they who believe in Allah and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them – to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 152)Tafsir
يَسْـَٔلُكَ اَهْلُ الْكِتٰبِ اَنْ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتٰبًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ فَقَدْ سَاَلُوْا مُوْسٰٓى اَكْبَرَ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ فَقَالُوْٓا اَرِنَا اللّٰهَ جَهْرَةً فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْۚ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَاۤءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَنْ ذٰلِكَ ۚ وَاٰتَيْنَا مُوْسٰى سُلْطٰنًا مُّبِيْنًا ١٥٣
- yasaluka
- يَسْـَٔلُكَ
- Ask you
- ahlu
- أَهْلُ
- (the) People
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Book
- an
- أَن
- that
- tunazzila
- تُنَزِّلَ
- you bring down
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- kitāban
- كِتَٰبًا
- a book
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-samāi
- ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ
- the heaven
- faqad
- فَقَدْ
- Then indeed
- sa-alū
- سَأَلُوا۟
- they (had) asked
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰٓ
- Musa
- akbara
- أَكْبَرَ
- greater
- min
- مِن
- than
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- faqālū
- فَقَالُوٓا۟
- for they said
- arinā
- أَرِنَا
- "Show us
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- jahratan
- جَهْرَةً
- manifestly"
- fa-akhadhathumu
- فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
- so struck them
- l-ṣāʿiqatu
- ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ
- the thunderbolt
- biẓul'mihim
- بِظُلْمِهِمْۚ
- for their wrongdoing
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
- they took
- l-ʿij'la
- ٱلْعِجْلَ
- the calf (for worship)
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- baʿdi
- بَعْدِ
- after
- mā
- مَا
- [what]
- jāathumu
- جَآءَتْهُمُ
- came to them
- l-bayinātu
- ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ
- the clear proofs
- faʿafawnā
- فَعَفَوْنَا
- then We forgave them
- ʿan
- عَن
- for
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَۚ
- that
- waātaynā
- وَءَاتَيْنَا
- And We gave
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰ
- Musa
- sul'ṭānan
- سُلْطَٰنًا
- an authority
- mubīnan
- مُّبِينًا
- clear
The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down to them a book from the heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, "Show us Allah outright," so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We pardoned that. And We gave Moses a clear authority. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 153)Tafsir
وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ الطُّوْرَ بِمِيْثَاقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَّقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لَا تَعْدُوْا فِى السَّبْتِ وَاَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِّيْثَاقًا غَلِيْظًا ١٥٤
- warafaʿnā
- وَرَفَعْنَا
- And We raised
- fawqahumu
- فَوْقَهُمُ
- over them
- l-ṭūra
- ٱلطُّورَ
- the mount
- bimīthāqihim
- بِمِيثَٰقِهِمْ
- for their covenant
- waqul'nā
- وَقُلْنَا
- and We said
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- to them
- ud'khulū
- ٱدْخُلُوا۟
- "Enter
- l-bāba
- ٱلْبَابَ
- the gate
- sujjadan
- سُجَّدًا
- prostrating"
- waqul'nā
- وَقُلْنَا
- And We said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- lā
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- taʿdū
- تَعْدُوا۟
- transgress
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-sabti
- ٱلسَّبْتِ
- the Sabbath"
- wa-akhadhnā
- وَأَخَذْنَا
- And We took
- min'hum
- مِنْهُم
- from them
- mīthāqan
- مِّيثَٰقًا
- a covenant
- ghalīẓan
- غَلِيظًا
- solemn
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly"; and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath"; and We took from them a solemn covenant. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 154)Tafsir
فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ مِّيْثَاقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِمْ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ الْاَنْۢبِيَاۤءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَّقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوْبُنَا غُلْفٌ ۗ بَلْ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًاۖ ١٥٥
- fabimā
- فَبِمَا
- Then because of
- naqḍihim
- نَقْضِهِم
- their breaking
- mīthāqahum
- مِّيثَٰقَهُمْ
- (of) their covenant
- wakuf'rihim
- وَكُفْرِهِم
- and their disbelief
- biāyāti
- بِـَٔايَٰتِ
- in (the) Signs
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- waqatlihimu
- وَقَتْلِهِمُ
- and their killing
- l-anbiyāa
- ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ
- (of) the Prophets
- bighayri
- بِغَيْرِ
- without
- ḥaqqin
- حَقٍّ
- any right
- waqawlihim
- وَقَوْلِهِمْ
- and their saying
- qulūbunā
- قُلُوبُنَا
- "Our hearts
- ghul'fun
- غُلْفٌۢۚ
- (are) wrapped"
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- ṭabaʿa
- طَبَعَ
- (has) set a seal
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَا
- on their (hearts)
- bikuf'rihim
- بِكُفْرِهِمْ
- for their disbelief
- falā
- فَلَا
- so not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- they believe
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- qalīlan
- قَلِيلًا
- a few
And [We cursed them] for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without right and their saying, "Our hearts are wrapped" [i.e., sealed against reception]. Rather, Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 155)Tafsir
وَّبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلٰى مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَانًا عَظِيْمًاۙ ١٥٦
- wabikuf'rihim
- وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ
- And for their disbelief
- waqawlihim
- وَقَوْلِهِمْ
- and their saying
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- against
- maryama
- مَرْيَمَ
- Maryam
- buh'tānan
- بُهْتَٰنًا
- a slander
- ʿaẓīman
- عَظِيمًا
- great
And [We cursed them] for their disbelief and their saying against Mary a great slander (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 156)Tafsir
وَّقَوْلِهِمْ اِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيْحَ عِيْسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوْهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوْهُ وَلٰكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ ۗوَاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اخْتَلَفُوْا فِيْهِ لَفِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ ۗمَا لَهُمْ بِهٖ مِنْ عِلْمٍ اِلَّا اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّ وَمَا قَتَلُوْهُ يَقِيْنًاۢ ۙ ١٥٧

- وَقَوْلِهِمْ
- And for their saying
- innā
- إِنَّا
- "Indeed we
- qatalnā
- قَتَلْنَا
- killed
- l-masīḥa
- ٱلْمَسِيحَ
- the Messiah
- ʿīsā
- عِيسَى
- Isa
- ib'na
- ٱبْنَ
- son
- maryama
- مَرْيَمَ
- (of) Maryam
- rasūla
- رَسُولَ
- (the) Messenger
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah"
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- qatalūhu
- قَتَلُوهُ
- they killed him
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- ṣalabūhu
- صَلَبُوهُ
- they crucified him
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- shubbiha
- شُبِّهَ
- it was made to appear (so)
- lahum
- لَهُمْۚ
- to them
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- And indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ikh'talafū
- ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟
- differ
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- in it
- lafī
- لَفِى
- (are) surely in
- shakkin
- شَكٍّ
- doubt
- min'hu
- مِّنْهُۚ
- about it
- mā
- مَا
- Not
- lahum
- لَهُم
- for them
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- about it
- min
- مِنْ
- [of]
- ʿil'min
- عِلْمٍ
- (any) knowledge
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- ittibāʿa
- ٱتِّبَاعَ
- (the) following
- l-ẓani
- ٱلظَّنِّۚ
- (of) assumption
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- qatalūhu
- قَتَلُوهُ
- they killed him
- yaqīnan
- يَقِينًۢا
- certainly
And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 157)Tafsir
بَلْ رَّفَعَهُ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْهِ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا ١٥٨
- bal
- بَل
- Nay
- rafaʿahu
- رَّفَعَهُ
- he was raised
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (by) Allah
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِۚ
- towards Him
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And is
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿazīzan
- عَزِيزًا
- All-Mighty
- ḥakīman
- حَكِيمًا
- All-Wise
Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 158)Tafsir
وَاِنْ مِّنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ اِلَّا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهٖ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهٖ ۚوَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يَكُوْنُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيْدًاۚ ١٥٩
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And (there is) not
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ahli
- أَهْلِ
- (the) People
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Book
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- layu'minanna
- لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ
- surely he believes
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- in him
- qabla
- قَبْلَ
- before
- mawtihi
- مَوْتِهِۦۖ
- his death
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) the Resurrection
- yakūnu
- يَكُونُ
- he will be
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- against them
- shahīdan
- شَهِيدًا
- a witness
And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in him [i.e., Jesus] before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 159)Tafsir
فَبِظُلْمٍ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ هَادُوْا حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ طَيِّبٰتٍ اُحِلَّتْ لَهُمْ وَبِصَدِّهِمْ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ كَثِيْرًاۙ ١٦٠
- fabiẓul'min
- فَبِظُلْمٍ
- Then for (the) wrongdoing
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- hādū
- هَادُوا۟
- were Jews
- ḥarramnā
- حَرَّمْنَا
- We made unlawful
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- for them
- ṭayyibātin
- طَيِّبَٰتٍ
- good things
- uḥillat
- أُحِلَّتْ
- which had been lawful
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- wabiṣaddihim
- وَبِصَدِّهِمْ
- and for their hindering
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah -
- kathīran
- كَثِيرًا
- many
For wrongdoing on the part of the Jews, We made unlawful for them [certain] good foods which had been lawful to them, and for their averting from the way of Allah many [people], (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 160)Tafsir
