(The Women)

141

ۨالَّذِيْنَ يَتَرَبَّصُوْنَ بِكُمْۗ فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فَتْحٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ قَالُوْٓا اَلَمْ نَكُنْ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ وَاِنْ كَانَ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ نَصِيْبٌ قَالُوْٓا اَلَمْ نَسْتَحْوِذْ عَلَيْكُمْ وَنَمْنَعْكُمْ مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ۗ فَاللّٰهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۗ وَلَنْ يَّجْعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ سَبِيْلًا ࣖ ١٤١

alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
yatarabbaṣūna
يَتَرَبَّصُونَ
are waiting
bikum
بِكُمْ
for you
fa-in
فَإِن
Then if
kāna
كَانَ
was
lakum
لَكُمْ
for you
fatḥun
فَتْحٌ
a victory
mina
مِّنَ
from
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
qālū
قَالُوٓا۟
they say
alam
أَلَمْ
"Were not
nakun
نَكُن
we
maʿakum
مَّعَكُمْ
with you?"
wa-in
وَإِن
But if
kāna
كَانَ
(there) was
lil'kāfirīna
لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
naṣībun
نَصِيبٌ
a chance
qālū
قَالُوٓا۟
they said
alam
أَلَمْ
"Did not
nastaḥwidh
نَسْتَحْوِذْ
we have advantage
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُمْ
over you
wanamnaʿkum
وَنَمْنَعْكُم
and we protected you
mina
مِّنَ
from
l-mu'minīna
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَۚ
the believers?"
fal-lahu
فَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
yaḥkumu
يَحْكُمُ
will judge
baynakum
بَيْنَكُمْ
between you
yawma
يَوْمَ
(on the) Day
l-qiyāmati
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۗ
(of) the Resurrection
walan
وَلَن
and never
yajʿala
يَجْعَلَ
will make
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
lil'kāfirīna
لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
ʿalā
عَلَى
over
l-mu'minīna
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers
sabīlan
سَبِيلًا
a way
Those who wait [and watch] you. Then if you gain a victory from Allah, they say, "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers have a success, they say [to them], "Did we not gain the advantage over you, but we protected you from the believers?" Allah will judge between [all of] you on the Day of Resurrection, and never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 141)
Tafsir
142

اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ يُخٰدِعُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَهُوَ خَادِعُهُمْۚ وَاِذَا قَامُوْٓا اِلَى الصَّلٰوةِ قَامُوْا كُسَالٰىۙ يُرَاۤءُوْنَ النَّاسَ وَلَا يَذْكُرُوْنَ اللّٰهَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًاۖ ١٤٢

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-munāfiqīna
ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
the hypocrites
yukhādiʿūna
يُخَٰدِعُونَ
(seek to) deceive
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
and (it is) He
khādiʿuhum
خَٰدِعُهُمْ
who deceives them
wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
qāmū
قَامُوٓا۟
they stand
ilā
إِلَى
for
l-ṣalati
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
the prayer
qāmū
قَامُوا۟
they stand
kusālā
كُسَالَىٰ
lazily
yurāūna
يُرَآءُونَ
showing off
l-nāsa
ٱلنَّاسَ
(to) the people
walā
وَلَا
and not
yadhkurūna
يَذْكُرُونَ
they remember
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
illā
إِلَّا
except
qalīlan
قَلِيلًا
a little
Indeed, the hypocrites [think to] deceive Allah, but He is deceiving them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing [themselves to] the people and not remembering Allah except a little, (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 142)
Tafsir
143

مُّذَبْذَبِيْنَ بَيْنَ ذٰلِكَۖ لَآ اِلٰى هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ وَلَآ اِلٰى هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ ۗ وَمَنْ يُّضْلِلِ اللّٰهُ فَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهٗ سَبِيْلًا ١٤٣

mudhabdhabīna
مُّذَبْذَبِينَ
Wavering
bayna
بَيْنَ
between
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
لَآ
not
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
hāulāi
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
walā
وَلَآ
and not
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
hāulāi
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۚ
those
waman
وَمَن
And whoever
yuḍ'lili
يُضْلِلِ
has been lead astray
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(by) Allah
falan
فَلَن
then never
tajida
تَجِدَ
you will find
lahu
لَهُۥ
for him
sabīlan
سَبِيلًا
a way
Wavering between them, [belonging] neither to these [i.e., the believers] nor to those [i.e., the disbelievers]. And whoever Allah sends astray – never will you find for him a way. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 143)
Tafsir
144

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْكٰفِرِيْنَ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ مِنْ دُوْنِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ۚ اَتُرِيْدُوْنَ اَنْ تَجْعَلُوْا لِلّٰهِ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطٰنًا مُّبِيْنًا ١٤٤

yāayyuhā
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe[d]!
لَا
(Do) not
tattakhidhū
تَتَّخِذُوا۟
take
l-kāfirīna
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
awliyāa
أَوْلِيَآءَ
(as) allies
min
مِن
from
dūni
دُونِ
instead of
l-mu'minīna
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَۚ
the believers
aturīdūna
أَتُرِيدُونَ
Do you wish
an
أَن
that
tajʿalū
تَجْعَلُوا۟
you make
lillahi
لِلَّهِ
for Allah
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُمْ
against you
sul'ṭānan
سُلْطَٰنًا
an evidence
mubīnan
مُّبِينًا
clear?
O you who have believed, do not take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do you wish to give Allah against yourselves a clear case? (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 144)
Tafsir
145

اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ فِى الدَّرْكِ الْاَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِۚ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهُمْ نَصِيْرًاۙ ١٤٥

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-munāfiqīna
ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
the hypocrites
فِى
(will be) in
l-darki
ٱلدَّرْكِ
the depths
l-asfali
ٱلْأَسْفَلِ
the lowest
mina
مِنَ
of
l-nāri
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
walan
وَلَن
and never
tajida
تَجِدَ
you will find
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
naṣīran
نَصِيرًا
any helper
Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire – and never will you find for them a helper . (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 145)
Tafsir
146

اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ تَابُوْا وَاَصْلَحُوْا وَاعْتَصَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَاَخْلَصُوْا دِيْنَهُمْ لِلّٰهِ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ مَعَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۗ وَسَوْفَ يُؤْتِ اللّٰهُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا ١٤٦

illā
إِلَّا
Except
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
tābū
تَابُوا۟
repent
wa-aṣlaḥū
وَأَصْلَحُوا۟
and correct (themselves)
wa-iʿ'taṣamū
وَٱعْتَصَمُوا۟
and hold fast
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
to Allah
wa-akhlaṣū
وَأَخْلَصُوا۟
and are sincere
dīnahum
دِينَهُمْ
(in) their religion
lillahi
لِلَّهِ
for Allah
fa-ulāika
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
then those (will be)
maʿa
مَعَ
with
l-mu'minīna
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَۖ
the believers
wasawfa
وَسَوْفَ
And soon
yu'ti
يُؤْتِ
will be given
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(by) Allah
l-mu'minīna
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers
ajran
أَجْرًا
a reward
ʿaẓīman
عَظِيمًا
great
Except for those who repent, correct themselves, hold fast to Allah, and are sincere in their religion for Allah, for those will be with the believers. And Allah is going to give the believers a great reward. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 146)
Tafsir
147

مَا يَفْعَلُ اللّٰهُ بِعَذَابِكُمْ اِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ وَاٰمَنْتُمْۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيْمًا ۔ ١٤٧

مَّا
What
yafʿalu
يَفْعَلُ
would do
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
biʿadhābikum
بِعَذَابِكُمْ
by punishing you
in
إِن
if
shakartum
شَكَرْتُمْ
you are grateful
waāmantum
وَءَامَنتُمْۚ
and you believe?
wakāna
وَكَانَ
And is
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
shākiran
شَاكِرًا
All-Appreciative
ʿalīman
عَلِيمًا
All-Knowing
What would Allah do with [i.e., gain from] your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allah Appreciative and Knowing. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 147)
Tafsir
148

۞ لَا يُحِبُّ اللّٰهُ الْجَهْرَ بِالسُّوْۤءِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ اِلَّا مَنْ ظُلِمَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ سَمِيْعًا عَلِيْمًا ١٤٨

لَّا
(Does) not
yuḥibbu
يُحِبُّ
love
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
l-jahra
ٱلْجَهْرَ
the public mention
bil-sūi
بِٱلسُّوٓءِ
of [the] evil
mina
مِنَ
[of]
l-qawli
ٱلْقَوْلِ
[the] words
illā
إِلَّا
except
man
مَن
(by the one) who
ẓulima
ظُلِمَۚ
has been wronged
wakāna
وَكَانَ
And is
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
samīʿan
سَمِيعًا
All-Hearing
ʿalīman
عَلِيمًا
All-Knowing
Allah does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged. And ever is Allah Hearing and Knowing. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 148)
Tafsir
149

اِنْ تُبْدُوْا خَيْرًا اَوْ تُخْفُوْهُ اَوْ تَعْفُوْا عَنْ سُوْۤءٍ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا قَدِيْرًا ١٤٩

in
إِن
If
tub'dū
تُبْدُوا۟
you disclose
khayran
خَيْرًا
a good
aw
أَوْ
or
tukh'fūhu
تُخْفُوهُ
you conceal it
aw
أَوْ
or
taʿfū
تَعْفُوا۟
pardon
ʿan
عَن
[of]
sūin
سُوٓءٍ
an evil
fa-inna
فَإِنَّ
then indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
kāna
كَانَ
is
ʿafuwwan
عَفُوًّا
Oft-Pardoning
qadīran
قَدِيرًا
All-Powerful
If [instead] you show [some] good or conceal it or pardon an offense – indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Competent. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 149)
Tafsir
150

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَكْفُرُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ وَيُرِيْدُوْنَ اَنْ يُّفَرِّقُوْا بَيْنَ اللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ نُؤْمِنُ بِبَعْضٍ وَّنَكْفُرُ بِبَعْضٍۙ وَّيُرِيْدُوْنَ اَنْ يَّتَّخِذُوْا بَيْنَ ذٰلِكَ سَبِيْلًاۙ ١٥٠

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yakfurūna
يَكْفُرُونَ
disbelieve
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
warusulihi
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
and His Messengers
wayurīdūna
وَيُرِيدُونَ
and they wish
an
أَن
that
yufarriqū
يُفَرِّقُوا۟
they differentiate
bayna
بَيْنَ
between
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
warusulihi
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
and His Messengers
wayaqūlūna
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they say
nu'minu
نُؤْمِنُ
"We believe
bibaʿḍin
بِبَعْضٍ
in some
wanakfuru
وَنَكْفُرُ
and we disbelieve
bibaʿḍin
بِبَعْضٍ
in others"
wayurīdūna
وَيُرِيدُونَ
And they wish
an
أَن
that
yattakhidhū
يَتَّخِذُوا۟
they take
bayna
بَيْنَ
between
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
sabīlan
سَبِيلًا
a way
Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between – (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 150)
