Al-Qur'an Surah Sad Verse 72
Sad [38]: 72 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَاِذَا سَوَّيْتُهٗ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيْهِ مِنْ رُّوْحِيْ فَقَعُوْا لَهٗ سٰجِدِيْنَ (ص : ٣٨)
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- So when
- sawwaytuhu
- سَوَّيْتُهُۥ
- I have proportioned him
- wanafakhtu
- وَنَفَخْتُ
- and breathed
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- into him
- min
- مِن
- of
- rūḥī
- رُّوحِى
- My spirit
- faqaʿū
- فَقَعُوا۟
- then fall down
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to him
- sājidīna
- سَٰجِدِينَ
- prostrating"
Transliteration:
Fa-iza sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa'oo lahoo saajideen(QS. Ṣād:72)
English / Sahih Translation:
So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." (QS. Sad, ayah 72)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
So, once I make him perfectly and breath My spirit into him, you must fall down in prostration before him.”

Tafsir jalalayn
So when I have proportioned him, completed him, and breathed in him, [when I have] caused to flow [therein], My spirit, so that he becomes a living [being] -- the addition of `the spirit' to Adam is an honour for him; the `spirit' is a subtle body that gives life to a human being by permeating him -- then fall down in prostration before him!' -- a prostration of salutation [that is actually] a bow.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
"So, when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him."
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَيِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
