Al-Qur'an Surah Sad Verse 60

Mufti Taqi Usmani

They (the followers) will say (to their leaders) “No, it is you who are not welcome; you are the ones who brought this upon us.” So, how evil is the place to stay (for ever)!”

They said: "But you are (there is) no welcome with (for) you, you advanced/introduced it for us." So how bad (is) the settlement/decision ?

Tafsir jalalayn

They, the followers, say, `Nay, but for you [there is] no welcome! You prepared this, that is, disbelief, for us. So what an evil abode!', for us and for you, is the Fire.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

قَالُوا بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَاا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ

Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you!

means, those who are coming in will say,

قَالُوا بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَاا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا

Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you who brought this upon us,

meaning, `you called us to that which led us to this fate.'

فَبِيْسَ الْقَرَارُ



so evil is this place to stay in!

means, evil is this abode and this destination.
