Al-Qur'an Surah Sad Verse 48
Sad [38]: 48 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَاذْكُرْ اِسْمٰعِيْلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۗوَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الْاَخْيَارِۗ (ص : ٣٨)
- wa-udh'kur
- وَٱذْكُرْ
- And remember
- is'māʿīla
- إِسْمَٰعِيلَ
- Ismail
- wal-yasaʿa
- وَٱلْيَسَعَ
- and Al-Yasa
- wadhā
- وَذَا
- and Dhul-kifl
- l-kif'li
- ٱلْكِفْلِۖ
- and Dhul-kifl
- wakullun
- وَكُلٌّ
- and all
- mina
- مِّنَ
- (are) from
- l-akhyāri
- ٱلْأَخْيَارِ
- the best
Transliteration:
Wazkur Ismaa'eela wal Yasa'a wa Zal-Kifli wa kullum minal akhyaar(QS. Ṣād:48)
English / Sahih Translation:
And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. (QS. Sad, ayah 48)

Tafsir jalalayn
And mention [also] Our servants Ishmael, and Elisha, who was a prophet (the lm [here in al-Yasa`] is extra) and Dh'l-Kifl -- there is disagreement over whether he was a prophet; it is said that [he was so called because] he looked after (kafala) a hundred prophets who had sought refuge with him from being killed. Each, that is, every one of them, was among the excellent (akhyr is the plural of khayyir).
