Al-Qur'an Surah Sad Verse 45
Sad [38]: 45 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَاذْكُرْ عِبٰدَنَآ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ اُولِى الْاَيْدِيْ وَالْاَبْصَارِ (ص : ٣٨)
- wa-udh'kur
- وَٱذْكُرْ
- And remember
- ʿibādanā
- عِبَٰدَنَآ
- Our slaves
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- Ibrahim
- wa-is'ḥāqa
- وَإِسْحَٰقَ
- and Ishaq
- wayaʿqūba
- وَيَعْقُوبَ
- and Ya'qub
- ulī
- أُو۟لِى
- possessors
- l-aydī
- ٱلْأَيْدِى
- (of) strength
- wal-abṣāri
- وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ
- and vision
Transliteration:
Wazkur 'ibaadanaaa Ibraaheema wa Is-haaqa wa Ya'qooba ulil-aydee walabsaar(QS. Ṣād:45)
English / Sahih Translation:
And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – those of strength and [religious] vision. (QS. Sad, ayah 45)

And mention [also] Our servants Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob -- men of fortitude, vigorous in their worship, and insight, deep understanding of religion (a variant reading [for `ibdan, `Our servants'] has [singular] `abdan, `Our servant', with Ibrhma as the explication thereof, and what follows as being a supplement to `abdan, `Our servant').
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
The Chosen and the Best among the Prophets
Allah tells us about the virtues of His servants the Messengers and His Prophets;
وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُوْلِي الاْاَيْدِي وَالاْاَبْصَارِ
And remember Our servants, Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Ya`qub, Ulil-Aydi wal-Absar.
meaning, righteous deeds, beneficial knowledge, strength in worship and insight.
Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said;
أُوْلِي الاَْيْدِي
(Ulil-Aydi) "Of great strength and worship;
وَالاْاَبْصَارِ
(wal-Absar) means, understanding of the religion."
Qatadah and As-Suddi said,
"They were given strength in worship and understanding of the religion."
إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ
