اِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ اِنِّيْ خَالِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّنْ طِيْنٍ ٧١
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- qāla
- قَالَ
- said
- rabbuka
- رَبُّكَ
- your Lord
- lil'malāikati
- لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
- to the Angels
- innī
- إِنِّى
- "Indeed I Am
- khāliqun
- خَٰلِقٌۢ
- going to create
- basharan
- بَشَرًا
- a human being
- min
- مِّن
- from
- ṭīnin
- طِينٍ
- clay
[So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay. (QS. [38] Sad: 71)Tafsir
72
فَاِذَا سَوَّيْتُهٗ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيْهِ مِنْ رُّوْحِيْ فَقَعُوْا لَهٗ سٰجِدِيْنَ ٧٢
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- So when
- sawwaytuhu
- سَوَّيْتُهُۥ
- I have proportioned him
- wanafakhtu
- وَنَفَخْتُ
- and breathed
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- into him
- min
- مِن
- of
- rūḥī
- رُّوحِى
- My spirit
- faqaʿū
- فَقَعُوا۟
- then fall down
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to him
- sājidīna
- سَٰجِدِينَ
- prostrating"
So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." (QS. [38] Sad: 72)Tafsir
73
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ اَجْمَعُوْنَۙ ٧٣
- fasajada
- فَسَجَدَ
- So prostrated
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- kulluhum
- كُلُّهُمْ
- all of them
- ajmaʿūna
- أَجْمَعُونَ
- together
So the angels prostrated – all of them entirely, (QS. [38] Sad: 73)Tafsir
74
اِلَّآ اِبْلِيْسَۗ اِسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ٧٤
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- Except
- ib'līsa
- إِبْلِيسَ
- Iblis;
- is'takbara
- ٱسْتَكْبَرَ
- he was arrogant
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- and became
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers
Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers. (QS. [38] Sad: 74)Tafsir
75
قَالَ يٰٓاِبْلِيْسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ اَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۗ اَسْتَكْبَرْتَ اَمْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْعَالِيْنَ ٧٥
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- yāib'līsu
- يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ
- "O Iblis!
- mā
- مَا
- What
- manaʿaka
- مَنَعَكَ
- prevented you
- an
- أَن
- that
- tasjuda
- تَسْجُدَ
- you (should) prostrate
- limā
- لِمَا
- to (one) whom
- khalaqtu
- خَلَقْتُ
- I created
- biyadayya
- بِيَدَىَّۖ
- with My Hands?
- astakbarta
- أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ
- Are you arrogant
- am
- أَمْ
- or
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- are you
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-ʿālīna
- ٱلْعَالِينَ
- the exalted ones"
[Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" (QS. [38] Sad: 75)Tafsir
76
قَالَ اَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِيْ مِنْ نَّارٍ وَّخَلَقْتَهٗ مِنْ طِيْنٍ ٧٦
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- anā
- أَنَا۠
- "I am
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- better
- min'hu
- مِّنْهُۖ
- than him
- khalaqtanī
- خَلَقْتَنِى
- You created me
- min
- مِن
- from
- nārin
- نَّارٍ
- fire
- wakhalaqtahu
- وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ
- and You created him
- min
- مِن
- from
- ṭīnin
- طِينٍ
- clay"
He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." (QS. [38] Sad: 76)Tafsir
77
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِيْمٌۖ ٧٧
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- fa-ukh'ruj
- فَٱخْرُجْ
- "Then get out
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- of it
- fa-innaka
- فَإِنَّكَ
- for indeed you
- rajīmun
- رَجِيمٌ
- (are) accursed
[Allah] said, "Then get out of it [i.e., Paradise], for indeed, you are expelled. (QS. [38] Sad: 77)Tafsir
78
وَّاِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ ٧٨
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- And indeed
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَ
- upon you
- laʿnatī
- لَعْنَتِىٓ
- (is) My curse
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- until
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- (the) Day
- l-dīni
- ٱلدِّينِ
- (of) Judgment"
And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." (QS. [38] Sad: 78)Tafsir
79
قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنْظِرْنِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ ٧٩
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord!
- fa-anẓir'nī
- فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ
- Then give me respite
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- until
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- (the) Day
- yub'ʿathūna
- يُبْعَثُونَ
- they are resurrected"
He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." (QS. [38] Sad: 79)Tafsir
80
قَالَ فَاِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِيْنَۙ ٨٠
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- fa-innaka
- فَإِنَّكَ
- "Then indeed you
- mina
- مِنَ
- (are) of
- l-munẓarīna
- ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
- those given respite
[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved (QS. [38] Sad: 80)Tafsir
