Al-Qur'an Surah As-Saffat Verse 78

Mufti Taqi Usmani

And We left for him (a word of praise) among the later people, (that is):

Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And We blessed him ˹with honourable mention˺ among later generations:

Ruwwad Translation Center

and We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations:

and left for him among the later folk

Abdul Haleem

We let him be praised by later generations:

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And We left for him among the posterity.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times;

Abul Ala Maududi

and We established for him a good name among posterity.

Ahmed Ali

And left (his name) for posterity.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And We kept his praise among the latter generations.

Ali Quli Qarai

and left for him a good name among posterity:

Ali Ünal

And We left for him among later-comers (until the end of time this greeting and remembrance of him and his Message):

Amatul Rahman Omar

And We left behind him (a blessed salutation) for the later generations (to remember him by).

English Literal

And We left on him in the lasts .

Faridul Haque

And We kept his praise among the latter generations.

And We perpetuated to him praise among the later generations,

And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times:

And made his offspring the survivors,

We left mention of him among later generations.

And We left mention of him among those who succeeded.

Tafsir jalalayn

And We left, We preserved, for him, fair praise, among posterity; [among] the prophets and communities [after him] until the Day of Resurrection [which is];

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And left for him among the later generations.

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said,

"He is remembered in a good way."

Mujahid said this means

"An honorable mention by all the Prophets."

Qatadah and As-Suddi said,

"Allah caused him to be praised constantly by others."

Ad-Dahhak said it means;

"Salam and praise."

سَلَمٌ عَلَى نُوحٍ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ
