Al-Qur'an Surah As-Saffat Verse 48
As-Saffat [37]: 48 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَعِنْدَهُمْ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرْفِ عِيْنٌ ۙ (الصافات : ٣٧)
- waʿindahum
- وَعِندَهُمْ
- And with them
- qāṣirātu
- قَٰصِرَٰتُ
- (will be) companions of modest gaze
- l-ṭarfi
- ٱلطَّرْفِ
- (will be) companions of modest gaze
- ʿīnun
- عِينٌ
- (having) beautiful eyes
Transliteration:
Wa 'indahum qaasiraatut tarfi 'een(QS. aṣ-Ṣāffāt:48)
English / Sahih Translation:
And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, (QS. As-Saffat, ayah 48)

Tafsir jalalayn
and with them will be maidens of restrained glances, who reserved their glances [exclusively] for their spouses and do not look upon any other -- because of the beauty they [the maidens] see in them -- with beautiful eyes (`n means with large and beautiful eyes),
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ
And beside them will be Qasirat At-Tarf,
means, chaste females, who will not look at anyone other than their husbands, as Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, Zayd bin Aslam, Qatadah, As-Suddi and others said.
عِينٌ
with (wide and beautiful) eyes.
means, with beautiful eyes.
It was also said that it means with wide eyes, which is connected to the first meaning. They are wide-eyed and beautiful, and their eyes are described as being beautiful and chaste.
Allah says;
وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
(And beside them will be Qasirat At-Tarf, with (wide and beautiful) eyes.
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
