Al-Qur'an Surah As-Saffat Verse 31

As-Saffat [37]: 31 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖاِنَّا لَذَاۤىِٕقُوْنَ (الصافات : ٣٧)

faḥaqqa
فَحَقَّ
So has been proved true
ʿalaynā
عَلَيْنَا
against us
qawlu
قَوْلُ
(the) Word
rabbinā
رَبِّنَآۖ
(of) our Lord;
innā
إِنَّا
indeed we
ladhāiqūna
لَذَآئِقُونَ
(will) certainly taste

Transliteration:

Fahaqqa 'alainaa qawlu Rabbinaaa innaa lazaaa'iqoon (QS. aṣ-Ṣāffāt:31)

English / Sahih Translation:

So the word [i.e., decree] of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. (QS. As-Saffat, ayah 31)

So, the word of our Lord has come true against us. Indeed, we have to taste (the punishment).

So our Lord's Words, of chastisement -- namely, His Words; `Verily I shall fill Hell with jinn and mankind together' [Q. 11;119] -- have become due against us, both. Indeed we shall, both, taste, the chastisement with these Words -- which prompts them to say;
