Al-Qur'an Surah As-Saffat Verse 28
As-Saffat [37]: 28 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
قَالُوْٓا اِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَأْتُوْنَنَا عَنِ الْيَمِيْنِ (الصافات : ٣٧)

- They will say

- "Indeed you

- come (to) us

- ٱلْيَمِينِ
- the right"
Transliteration:
Qaalooo innakum kuntum taatoonanaa 'anil yameen(QS. aṣ-Ṣāffāt:28)
English / Sahih Translation:
They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." (QS. As-Saffat, ayah 28)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
They (the followers) will say, “You were the ones who used to come to (mislead) us forcefully.”

The misled will say, “It was you who deluded us away from what is right.”[[ Other possible translations: 1. “It was you who used to pressure us.” 2. “It was you who tricked us in the name of the truth.” 3. “It was you who dissuaded us from doing good.” 4. “It was you who deceived us with false oaths.” ]]

Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us."

They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.”

They will say, ‘Indeed you used to accost us peremptorily.’

They (the ones led) say (to the leaders): "It was you who used to come to us affecting (pretending to be our well-wishers and offering falsehood as truth)."

They (the seduced ones) will say (to the seducers), `Surely, you used to approach us with great force swearing ( your sincerity to guide us aright).´
English Literal
They said: "That you were coming to us from the right (side)."

They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.”

They shall say, "Surely you used to come to us from the right hand side."

They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]."

Tafsir jalalayn
They, that is, the followers among them, will say, to those whom they followed; `Indeed you used to approach us from the right', in other words, from that aspect in which we used to trust you, for you used to swear that you followed the truth, and so we believed you and we followed you -- in other words, `Indeed, you have led us astray!'
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
It was you who used to come to us from the right side.
Ad-Dahhak reported that Ibn Abbas said;
"They will say, `You used to force us because of your position of power over us, for we were weak and you were strong."'
Qatadah said,
"Men will say to the Jinn, `You used to come to us from the right side to block every good deed, and you told us not to do it and you tried to put obstacles in our way."'
As-Suddi said,
"`You used to come to us to block the truth, and you made falsehood look attractive to us, and you prevented us from seeing the truth."
Ibn Zayd said, it means;
"`You stood in the way between us and goodness, and you repelled us from Islam and faith and doing the good deeds that we had been commanded to do."
Yazid Ar-Rishk said,
"from La ilaha illallah."
قَالُوا بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا مُوْمِنِينَ
