Al-Qur'an Surah As-Saffat Verse 159

As-Saffat [37]: 159 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

سُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوْنَۙ (الصافات : ٣٧)

sub'ḥāna
سُبْحَٰنَ
Glory be
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(to) Allah
ʿammā
عَمَّا
above what
yaṣifūna
يَصِفُونَ
they attribute

Transliteration:

Subhaanal laahi 'ammaa yasifoon (QS. aṣ-Ṣāffāt:159)

English / Sahih Translation:

Exalted is Allah above what they describe, (QS. As-Saffat, ayah 159)

Tafsir jalalayn

Glory be to God, affirming that He is exalted, above what they attribute, [to Him] in the way of His having a child,

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Glorified be Allah! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him!

means, exalted, sanctified and glorified be He far above having any offspring and far above what the wrongdoers and heretics attribute to Him.
