قَالَ قَاۤىِٕلٌ مِّنْهُمْ اِنِّيْ كَانَ لِيْ قَرِيْنٌۙ ٥١
- qāla

- Will say
- qāilun
- قَآئِلٌ
- a speaker
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- among them
- innī
- إِنِّى
- "Indeed I
- kāna
- كَانَ
- had
- lī
- لِى
- for me
- qarīnun
- قَرِينٌ
- a companion
A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 51)Tafsir
52
يَّقُوْلُ اَىِٕنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُصَدِّقِيْنَ ٥٢
- yaqūlu
- يَقُولُ
- Who (would) say
- a-innaka
- أَءِنَّكَ
- "Are you indeed
- lamina
- لَمِنَ
- surely of
- l-muṣadiqīna
- ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
- those who believe?
Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 52)Tafsir
53
ءَاِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا ءَاِنَّا لَمَدِيْنُوْنَ ٥٣
- a-idhā
- أَءِذَا
- Is (it) when
- mit'nā
- مِتْنَا
- we have died
- wakunnā
- وَكُنَّا
- and become
- turāban
- تُرَابًا
- dust
- waʿiẓāman
- وَعِظَٰمًا
- and bones
- a-innā
- أَءِنَّا
- will we
- lamadīnūna
- لَمَدِينُونَ
- surely be brought to Judgment?"
That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 53)Tafsir
54
قَالَ هَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّطَّلِعُوْنَ ٥٤
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He (will) say
- hal
- هَلْ
- "Will
- antum
- أَنتُم
- you
- muṭṭaliʿūna
- مُّطَّلِعُونَ
- be looking?"
He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 54)Tafsir
55
فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَاٰهُ فِيْ سَوَاۤءِ الْجَحِيْمِ ٥٥
- fa-iṭṭalaʿa
- فَٱطَّلَعَ
- Then he (will) look
- faraāhu
- فَرَءَاهُ
- and see him
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sawāi
- سَوَآءِ
- (the) midst
- l-jaḥīmi
- ٱلْجَحِيمِ
- (of) the Hellfire
And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 55)Tafsir
56
قَالَ تَاللّٰهِ اِنْ كِدْتَّ لَتُرْدِيْنِ ۙ ٥٦
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He (will) say
- tal-lahi
- تَٱللَّهِ
- "By Allah
- in
- إِن
- verily
- kidtta
- كِدتَّ
- you almost
- latur'dīni
- لَتُرْدِينِ
- ruined me
He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 56)Tafsir
57
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّيْ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِيْنَ ٥٧
- walawlā
- وَلَوْلَا
- And if not
- niʿ'matu
- نِعْمَةُ
- (for the) Grace
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- (of) my Lord
- lakuntu
- لَكُنتُ
- certainly I (would) have been
- mina
- مِنَ
- among
- l-muḥ'ḍarīna
- ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
- those brought
If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 57)Tafsir
58
اَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِيْنَۙ ٥٨
- afamā
- أَفَمَا
- Then are not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- bimayyitīna
- بِمَيِّتِينَ
- (to) die
Then, are we not to die (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 58)Tafsir
59
اِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْاُوْلٰى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِيْنَ ٥٩
- illā
- إِلَّا
- Except
- mawtatanā
- مَوْتَتَنَا
- our death
- l-ūlā
- ٱلْأُولَىٰ
- the first
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- bimuʿadhabīna
- بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
- will be punished?"
Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 59)Tafsir
60
اِنَّ هٰذَا لَهُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ ٦٠
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- lahuwa
- لَهُوَ
- surely
- l-fawzu
- ٱلْفَوْزُ
- (is) the attainment
- l-ʿaẓīmu
- ٱلْعَظِيمُ
- great
Indeed, this is the great attainment. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 60)Tafsir
