11
فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ اَهُمْ اَشَدُّ خَلْقًا اَمْ مَّنْ خَلَقْنَا ۗاِنَّا خَلَقْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ طِيْنٍ لَّازِبٍ ١١
- fa-is'taftihim
- فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ
- Then ask them
- ahum
- أَهُمْ
- "Are they
- ashaddu
- أَشَدُّ
- a stronger
- khalqan
- خَلْقًا
- creation
- am
- أَم
- or
- man
- مَّنْ
- (those) whom
- khalaqnā
- خَلَقْنَآۚ
- We have created?"
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed We
- khalaqnāhum
- خَلَقْنَٰهُم
- created them
- min
- مِّن
- from
- ṭīnin
- طِينٍ
- a clay
- lāzibin
- لَّازِبٍۭ
- sticky
Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created them [i.e., men] from sticky clay. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 11)Tafsir
12
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُوْنَ ۖ ١٢
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- ʿajib'ta
- عَجِبْتَ
- you wonder
- wayaskharūna
- وَيَسْخَرُونَ
- while they mock
But you wonder, while they mock, (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 12)Tafsir
13
وَاِذَا ذُكِّرُوْا لَا يَذْكُرُوْنَ ۖ ١٣
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- dhukkirū
- ذُكِّرُوا۟
- they are reminded
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yadhkurūna
- يَذْكُرُونَ
- they receive admonition
And when they are reminded, they remember not. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 13)Tafsir
14
وَاِذَا رَاَوْا اٰيَةً يَّسْتَسْخِرُوْنَۖ ١٤
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- ra-aw
- رَأَوْا۟
- they see
- āyatan
- ءَايَةً
- a Sign
- yastaskhirūna
- يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
- they mock
And when they see a sign, they ridicule. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 14)Tafsir
15
وَقَالُوْٓا اِنْ هٰذَآ اِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ۚ ١٥
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوٓا۟
- And they say
- in
- إِنْ
- "Not
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآ
- (is) this
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- siḥ'run
- سِحْرٌ
- a magic
- mubīnun
- مُّبِينٌ
- clear
And say, "This is not but obvious magic. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 15)Tafsir
16
ءَاِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا ءَاِنَّا لَمَبْعُوْثُوْنَۙ ١٦
- a-idhā
- أَءِذَا
- Is it when
- mit'nā
- مِتْنَا
- we are dead
- wakunnā
- وَكُنَّا
- and have become
- turāban
- تُرَابًا
- dust
- waʿiẓāman
- وَعِظَٰمًا
- and bones
- a-innā
- أَءِنَّا
- shall we then
- lamabʿūthūna
- لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
- be certainly resurrected
When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 16)Tafsir
17
اَوَاٰبَاۤؤُنَا الْاَوَّلُوْنَۗ ١٧
- awaābāunā
- أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا
- Or our fathers
- l-awalūna
- ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
- former?"
And our forefathers [as well]?" (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 17)Tafsir
18
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَاَنْتُمْ دَاخِرُوْنَۚ ١٨
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- naʿam
- نَعَمْ
- "Yes
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- and you
- dākhirūna
- دَٰخِرُونَ
- (will be) humiliated"
Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 18)Tafsir
19
فَاِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ فَاِذَا هُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ ١٩
- fa-innamā
- فَإِنَّمَا
- Then only
- hiya
- هِىَ
- it
- zajratun
- زَجْرَةٌ
- (will be) a cry
- wāḥidatun
- وَٰحِدَةٌ
- single
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- then behold!
- hum
- هُمْ
- They
- yanẓurūna
- يَنظُرُونَ
- will see
It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 19)Tafsir
20
وَقَالُوْا يٰوَيْلَنَا هٰذَا يَوْمُ الدِّيْنِ ٢٠
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوا۟
- And they will say
- yāwaylanā
- يَٰوَيْلَنَا
- "O woe to us!
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- This
- yawmu
- يَوْمُ
- (is the) Day
- l-dīni
- ٱلدِّينِ
- (of) the Recompense"
They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 20)Tafsir
