141
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُدْحَضِيْنَۚ ١٤١
- fasāhama
- فَسَاهَمَ
- Then he drew lots
- fakāna
- فَكَانَ
- and was
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-mud'ḥaḍīna
- ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
- the losers
And he drew lots and was among the losers. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 141)Tafsir
142
فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوْتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيْمٌ ١٤٢
- fal-taqamahu
- فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ
- Then swallowed him
- l-ḥūtu
- ٱلْحُوتُ
- the fish
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- while he
- mulīmun
- مُلِيمٌ
- (was) blameworthy
Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 142)Tafsir
143
فَلَوْلَآ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِيْنَ ۙ ١٤٣
- falawlā
- فَلَوْلَآ
- And if not
- annahu
- أَنَّهُۥ
- that he
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-musabiḥīna
- ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
- those who glorify
And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 143)Tafsir
144
لَلَبِثَ فِيْ بَطْنِهٖٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَۚ ١٤٤
- lalabitha
- لَلَبِثَ
- Certainly he (would have) remained
- fī
- فِى
- in
- baṭnihi
- بَطْنِهِۦٓ
- its belly
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- until
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- the Day
- yub'ʿathūna
- يُبْعَثُونَ
- they are resurrected
He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 144)Tafsir
145
فَنَبَذْنٰهُ بِالْعَرَاۤءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيْمٌ ۚ ١٤٥
- fanabadhnāhu
- فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ
- But We cast him
- bil-ʿarāi
- بِٱلْعَرَآءِ
- onto the open shore
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- while he
- saqīmun
- سَقِيمٌ
- (was) ill
But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 145)Tafsir
146
وَاَنْۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّنْ يَّقْطِيْنٍۚ ١٤٦
- wa-anbatnā
- وَأَنۢبَتْنَا
- And We caused to grow
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- over him
- shajaratan
- شَجَرَةً
- a plant
- min
- مِّن
- of
- yaqṭīnin
- يَقْطِينٍ
- gourd
And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 146)Tafsir
147
وَاَرْسَلْنٰهُ اِلٰى مِائَةِ اَلْفٍ اَوْ يَزِيْدُوْنَۚ ١٤٧
- wa-arsalnāhu
- وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ
- And We sent him
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- mi-ati
- مِا۟ئَةِ
- a hundred
- alfin
- أَلْفٍ
- thousand
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- yazīdūna
- يَزِيدُونَ
- more
And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 147)Tafsir
148
فَاٰمَنُوْا فَمَتَّعْنٰهُمْ اِلٰى حِيْنٍ ١٤٨
- faāmanū
- فَـَٔامَنُوا۟
- And they believed
- famattaʿnāhum
- فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ
- so We gave them enjoyment
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- for
- ḥīnin
- حِينٍ
- a while
And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 148)Tafsir
149
فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ اَلِرَبِّكَ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ الْبَنُوْنَۚ ١٤٩
- fa-is'taftihim
- فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ
- Then ask them
- alirabbika
- أَلِرَبِّكَ
- "Does your Lord
- l-banātu
- ٱلْبَنَاتُ
- (have) daughters
- walahumu
- وَلَهُمُ
- while for them
- l-banūna
- ٱلْبَنُونَ
- (are) sons?"
So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 149)Tafsir
150
اَمْ خَلَقْنَا الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةَ اِنَاثًا وَّهُمْ شَاهِدُوْنَ ١٥٠
- am
- أَمْ
- Or
- khalaqnā
- خَلَقْنَا
- did We create
- l-malāikata
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
- the Angels
- ināthan
- إِنَٰثًا
- females
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- shāhidūna
- شَٰهِدُونَ
- (were) witnesses?
Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" (QS. [37] As-Saffat: 150)Tafsir
