Al-Qur'an Surah Ya-Sin Verse 62
Ya-Sin [36]: 62 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَلَقَدْ اَضَلَّ مِنْكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيْرًا ۗاَفَلَمْ تَكُوْنُوْا تَعْقِلُوْنَ (يس : ٣٦)

- he led astray

- from you
- jibillan
- جِبِلًّا
- a multitude

- كَثِيرًاۖ

- أَفَلَمْ
- Then did not
- takūnū
- تَكُونُوا۟
- you
- taʿqilūna
- تَعْقِلُونَ
- use reason?
Transliteration:
Wa laqad adalla minkum jibillan kaseeraa; afalam takoonoo ta'qiloon(QS. Yāʾ Sīn:62)
English / Sahih Translation:
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason? (QS. Ya-Sin, ayah 62)

Tafsir jalalayn
For verily he has led astray from among you many a creature (jibillan is the plural of jabl, similar [in pattern] to qadm, `old'; a variant reading has jubulan). Did you not use to comprehend?, his enmity and his misguidance, or the chastisements that befell them and so believe? And it will be said to them in the Hereafter;
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
Allah says;
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّ كَثِيرًا
And indeed he did lead astray a great multitude of you.
meaning, a large number of people.
This was the view of Mujahid, Qatadah, As-Suddi and Sufyan bin Uyaynah.

أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ
Did you not then understand!
means, `did you not have any understanding, when you went against the command of your Lord to worship Him alone, with no partner or associate, and you preferred to follow the Shaytan?
