Al-Qur'an Surah Ya-Sin Verse 43

Ya-Sin [36]: 43 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَاِنْ نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيْخَ لَهُمْ وَلَاهُمْ يُنْقَذُوْنَۙ (يس : ٣٦)

wa-in
وَإِن
And if

نَّشَأْ
We will
nugh'riq'hum
نُغْرِقْهُمْ
We could drown them;
falā
فَلَا
then not
ṣarīkha
صَرِيخَ
(would be) a responder to a cry
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
walā
وَلَا
and not
hum
هُمْ
they
yunqadhūna
يُنقَذُونَ
would be saved

Transliteration:

Wa in nashaa nughriqhum falaa sareekha lahum wa laa hum yunqazoon (QS. Yāʾ Sīn:43)

English / Sahih Translation:

And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved (QS. Ya-Sin, ayah 43)

And if We will, We drown them, despite the existence of ships [for them to ride safely in], whereat they have no one to call to, [none] to succour [them], nor are they rescued, delivered --

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ

And if We will, We shall drown them,

means, those who are on board the ships.

فَلَ صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ

and there will be no shout for them,

means, there will be no one to save them from their predicament.

وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ



nor will they be saved.

means, from what has befallen them
