Al-Qur'an Surah Ya-Sin Verse 10

Ya-Sin [36]: 10 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَسَوَاۤءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَاَنْذَرْتَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تُنْذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ (يس : ٣٦)

And it (is) same

Transliteration:

Wa sawaaa'un 'alaihim 'a-anzartahum am lam tunzirhum laa yu'minoon (QS. Yāʾ Sīn:10)

English / Sahih Translation:

And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe. (QS. Ya-Sin, ayah 10)

And it is the same to them whether you warn them (read a-andhartuhum, pronouncing both hamzas; or by substituting an alif for the second one; or by not pronouncing the second one but inserting an alif between the one not pronounced and the other one, or without [the insertion]) or do not warn them, they will not believe.

It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe.

means, Allah has decreed that they will be misguided, so warning them will not help them and will not have any effect on them. Something similar has already been seen at the beginning of Surah Al-Baqarah,

and Allah also says;

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَا يُوْمِنُونَ

وَلَوْ جَأءَتْهُمْ كُلُّ ءايَةٍ حَتَّى يَرَوُاْ الْعَذَابَ الاٌّلِيمَ

Truly, those, against whom the Word (wrath) of your Lord has been justified, will not believe, Even if every sign should come to them, until they see the painful torment. (10;96-97
