(Ya Sin)

11

اِنَّمَا تُنْذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِۚ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَّاَجْرٍ كَرِيْمٍ ١١

innamā
إِنَّمَا
Only
tundhiru
تُنذِرُ
you (can) warn
mani
مَنِ
(him) who
ittabaʿa
ٱتَّبَعَ
follows
l-dhik'ra
ٱلذِّكْرَ
the Reminder
wakhashiya
وَخَشِىَ
and fears
l-raḥmāna
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ
the Most Gracious
bil-ghaybi
بِٱلْغَيْبِۖ
in the unseen
fabashir'hu
فَبَشِّرْهُ
So give him glad tidings
bimaghfiratin
بِمَغْفِرَةٍ
of forgiveness
wa-ajrin
وَأَجْرٍ
and a reward
karīmin
كَرِيمٍ
noble
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward. (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 11)

12

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِ الْمَوْتٰى وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوْا وَاٰثَارَهُمْۗ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ اَحْصَيْنٰهُ فِيْٓ اِمَامٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ࣖ ١٢

innā
إِنَّا
Indeed We
naḥnu
نَحْنُ
We
nuḥ'yī
نُحْىِ
[We] give life
l-mawtā
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
(to) the dead
wanaktubu
وَنَكْتُبُ
and We record
مَا
what
qaddamū
قَدَّمُوا۟
they have sent before
waāthārahum
وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْۚ
and their footprints
wakulla
وَكُلَّ
and every
shayin
شَىْءٍ
thing
aḥṣaynāhu
أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ
We have enumerated it
فِىٓ
in
imāmin
إِمَامٍ
a Register
mubīnin
مُّبِينٍ
clear
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register. (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 12)
Tafsir
13

وَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ مَّثَلًا اَصْحٰبَ الْقَرْيَةِۘ اِذْ جَاۤءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُوْنَۚ ١٣

wa-iḍ'rib
وَٱضْرِبْ
And set forth
lahum
لَهُم
to them
mathalan
مَّثَلًا
an example
aṣḥāba
أَصْحَٰبَ
(of the) companions
l-qaryati
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
(of) the city
idh
إِذْ
when
jāahā
جَآءَهَا
came to it
l-mur'salūna
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
the Messengers
And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it – (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 13)

14

اِذْ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوْهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوْٓا اِنَّآ اِلَيْكُمْ مُّرْسَلُوْنَ ١٤

أَرْسَلْنَآ
We sent
ilayhimu
إِلَيْهِمُ
to them
ith'nayni
ٱثْنَيْنِ
two (Messengers)
fakadhabūhumā
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا
but they denied both of them
faʿazzaznā
فَعَزَّزْنَا
so We strengthened them
bithālithin
بِثَالِثٍ
with a third
faqālū
فَقَالُوٓا۟
and they said
innā
إِنَّآ
"Indeed We
ilaykum
إِلَيْكُم
to you
mur'salūna
مُّرْسَلُونَ
(are) Messengers"
When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened [them] with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you." (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 14)
Tafsir
15

قَالُوْا مَآ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَاۙ وَمَآ اَنْزَلَ الرَّحْمٰنُ مِنْ شَيْءٍۙ اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا تَكْذِبُوْنَ ١٥

قَالُوا۟
They said
مَآ
"Not
antum
أَنتُمْ
you
illā
إِلَّا
(are) but
basharun
بَشَرٌ
human beings
mith'lunā
مِّثْلُنَا
like us
wamā
وَمَآ
and not
anzala
أَنزَلَ
has revealed
l-raḥmānu
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
the Most Gracious
min
مِن
any
shayin
شَىْءٍ
thing
in
إِنْ
Not
antum
أَنتُمْ
you
illā
إِلَّا
(are) but
takdhibūna
تَكْذِبُونَ
lying"
They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies." (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 15)
Tafsir
16

قَالُوْا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ اِنَّآ اِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُوْنَ ١٦

قَالُوا۟
They said
rabbunā
رَبُّنَا
"Our Lord
yaʿlamu
يَعْلَمُ
knows
innā
إِنَّآ
that we
ilaykum
إِلَيْكُمْ
to you
lamur'salūna
لَمُرْسَلُونَ
(are) surely Messengers
They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you, (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 16)
Tafsir
17

وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ اِلَّا الْبَلٰغُ الْمُبِيْنُ ١٧

wamā
وَمَا
And not
ʿalaynā
عَلَيْنَآ
(is) on us
illā
إِلَّا
except
l-balāghu
ٱلْبَلَٰغُ
the conveyance
l-mubīnu
ٱلْمُبِينُ
clear"
And we are not responsible except for clear notification." (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 17)
Tafsir
18

قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْۚ لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ تَنْتَهُوْا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمْ مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ١٨

قَالُوٓا۟
They said
innā
إِنَّا
"Indeed we
taṭayyarnā
تَطَيَّرْنَا
[we] see an evil omen
bikum
بِكُمْۖ
from you
la-in
لَئِن
If
lam
لَّمْ
not
tantahū
تَنتَهُوا۟
you desist
lanarjumannakum
لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ
surely we will stone you
walayamassannakum
وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم
and surely will touch you
minnā
مِّنَّا
from us
ʿadhābun
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
alīmun
أَلِيمٌ
painful"
They said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment." (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 18)
Tafsir
19

قَالُوْا طَاۤىِٕرُكُمْ مَّعَكُمْۗ اَىِٕنْ ذُكِّرْتُمْۗ بَلْ اَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُوْنَ ١٩

qālū
قَالُوا۟
They said
ṭāirukum
طَٰٓئِرُكُم
"Your evil omen
maʿakum
مَّعَكُمْۚ
(be) with you!
a-in
أَئِن
Is it because
dhukkir'tum
ذُكِّرْتُمۚ
you are admonished?
bal
بَلْ
Nay
antum
أَنتُمْ
you
qawmun
قَوْمٌ
(are) a people
mus'rifūna
مُّسْرِفُونَ
transgressing"
They said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people." (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 19)
Tafsir
20

وَجَاۤءَ مِنْ اَقْصَا الْمَدِيْنَةِ رَجُلٌ يَّسْعٰى قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِيْنَۙ ٢٠

wajāa
وَجَآءَ
And came

مِنْ
from
aqṣā
أَقْصَا
(the) farthest end
l-madīnati
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
(of) the city
rajulun
رَجُلٌ
a man
yasʿā
يَسْعَىٰ
running
qāla
قَالَ
He said
yāqawmi
يَٰقَوْمِ
"O my People!
ittabiʿū
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟
Follow
l-mur'salīna
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
the Messengers
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers. (QS. [36] Ya-Sin: 20)
