۞ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ اَنْ تَزُوْلَا ەۚ وَلَىِٕنْ زَالَتَآ اِنْ اَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ اَحَدٍ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ ۗاِنَّهٗ كَانَ حَلِيْمًا غَفُوْرًا ٤١
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yum'siku
- يُمْسِكُ
- upholds
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍa
- وَٱلْأَرْضَ
- and the earth
- an
- أَن
- lest
- tazūlā
- تَزُولَاۚ
- they cease
- wala-in
- وَلَئِن
- And if
- zālatā
- زَالَتَآ
- they should cease
- in
- إِنْ
- not
- amsakahumā
- أَمْسَكَهُمَا
- can uphold them
- min
- مِنْ
- any
- aḥadin
- أَحَدٍ
- one
- min
- مِّنۢ
- after Him
- baʿdihi
- بَعْدِهِۦٓۚ
- after Him
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed, He
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- ḥalīman
- حَلِيمًا
- Most Forbearing
- ghafūran
- غَفُورًا
- Oft-Forgiving
Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing and Forgiving. (QS. [35] Fatir: 41)Tafsir
وَاَقْسَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ جَهْدَ اَيْمَانِهِمْ لَىِٕنْ جَاۤءَهُمْ نَذِيْرٌ لَّيَكُوْنُنَّ اَهْدٰى مِنْ اِحْدَى الْاُمَمِۚ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ نَذِيْرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ اِلَّا نُفُوْرًاۙ ٤٢
- wa-aqsamū
- وَأَقْسَمُوا۟
- And they swore
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- by Allah
- jahda
- جَهْدَ
- (the) strongest
- aymānihim
- أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ
- (of) their oaths
- la-in
- لَئِن
- that if
- jāahum
- جَآءَهُمْ
- came to them
- nadhīrun
- نَذِيرٌ
- a warner
- layakūnunna
- لَّيَكُونُنَّ
- surely they would be
- ahdā
- أَهْدَىٰ
- more guided
- min
- مِنْ
- than
- iḥ'dā
- إِحْدَى
- any
- l-umami
- ٱلْأُمَمِۖ
- (of) the nations
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- But when
- jāahum
- جَآءَهُمْ
- came to them
- nadhīrun
- نَذِيرٌ
- a warner
- mā
- مَّا
- not
- zādahum
- زَادَهُمْ
- it increased them
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- nufūran
- نُفُورًا
- (in) aversion
And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion (QS. [35] Fatir: 42)Tafsir
ۨاسْتِكْبَارًا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَمَكْرَ السَّيِّئِۗ وَلَا يَحِيْقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ اِلَّا بِاَهْلِهٖ ۗفَهَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَّا سُنَّتَ الْاَوَّلِيْنَۚ فَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللّٰهِ تَبْدِيْلًا ەۚ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللّٰهِ تَحْوِيْلًا ٤٣
- is'tik'bāran
- ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
- (Due to) arrogance
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the land
- wamakra
- وَمَكْرَ
- and plotting
- l-sayi-i
- ٱلسَّيِّئِۚ
- (of) the evil;
- walā
- وَلَا
- but not
- yaḥīqu
- يَحِيقُ
- encompasses
- l-makru
- ٱلْمَكْرُ
- the plot
- l-sayi-u
- ٱلسَّيِّئُ
- (of) the evil
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- bi-ahlihi
- بِأَهْلِهِۦۚ
- its own people
- fahal
- فَهَلْ
- Then do
- yanẓurūna
- يَنظُرُونَ
- they wait
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- sunnata
- سُنَّتَ
- (the) way
- l-awalīna
- ٱلْأَوَّلِينَۚ
- (of) the former (people)?
- falan
- فَلَن
- But never
- tajida
- تَجِدَ
- you will find
- lisunnati
- لِسُنَّتِ
- in (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- tabdīlan
- تَبْدِيلًاۖ
- any change
- walan
- وَلَن
- and never
- tajida
- تَجِدَ
- you will find
- lisunnati
- لِسُنَّتِ
- in (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- taḥwīlan
- تَحْوِيلًا
- any alteration
[Due to] arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they await except the way [i.e., fate] of the former peoples? But you will never find in the way [i.e., established method] of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration. (QS. [35] Fatir: 43)Tafsir
اَوَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَكَانُوْٓا اَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۗوَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُعْجِزَهٗ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَلَا فِى الْاَرْضِۗ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَلِيْمًا قَدِيْرًا ٤٤
- awalam
- أَوَلَمْ
- Have they not
- yasīrū
- يَسِيرُوا۟
- traveled
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the land
- fayanẓurū
- فَيَنظُرُوا۟
- and seen
- kayfa
- كَيْفَ
- how
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- ʿāqibatu
- عَٰقِبَةُ
- (the) end
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- min
- مِن
- (were) before them?
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْ
- (were) before them?
- wakānū
- وَكَانُوٓا۟
- And they were
- ashadda
- أَشَدَّ
- stronger
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- than them
- quwwatan
- قُوَّةًۚ
- (in) power
- wamā
- وَمَا
- But not
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- liyuʿ'jizahu
- لِيُعْجِزَهُۥ
- that can escape (from) Him
- min
- مِن
- any
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- thing
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- the earth
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed, He
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- ʿalīman
- عَلِيمًا
- All-Knower
- qadīran
- قَدِيرًا
- All-Powerful
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? And they were greater than them in power. But Allah is not to be caused failure [i.e., prevented] by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Indeed, He is ever Knowing and Competent. (QS. [35] Fatir: 44)Tafsir
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوْا مَا تَرَكَ عَلٰى ظَهْرِهَا مِنْ دَاۤبَّةٍ وَّلٰكِنْ يُّؤَخِّرُهُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىۚ فَاِذَا جَاۤءَ اَجَلُهُمْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهٖ بَصِيْرًا ࣖ ٤٥
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- yuākhidhu
- يُؤَاخِذُ
- Allah (were to) punish
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah (were to) punish
- l-nāsa
- ٱلنَّاسَ
- the people
- bimā
- بِمَا
- for what
- kasabū
- كَسَبُوا۟
- they have earned
- mā
- مَا
- not
- taraka
- تَرَكَ
- He would leave
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- ẓahrihā
- ظَهْرِهَا
- its back
- min
- مِن
- any
- dābbatin
- دَآبَّةٍ
- creature
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- But
- yu-akhiruhum
- يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ
- He gives them respite
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- till
- ajalin
- أَجَلٍ
- a term
- musamman
- مُّسَمًّىۖ
- appointed
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- And when
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- comes
- ajaluhum
- أَجَلُهُمْ
- their term
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- biʿibādihi
- بِعِبَادِهِۦ
- of His slaves
- baṣīran
- بَصِيرًۢا
- All-Seer
And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allah has ever been, of His servants, Seeing. (QS. [35] Fatir: 45)Tafsir
