قَالُوْا سُبْحٰنَكَ اَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِنْ دُوْنِهِمْ ۚبَلْ كَانُوْا يَعْبُدُوْنَ الْجِنَّ اَكْثَرُهُمْ بِهِمْ مُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٤١
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They will say
- sub'ḥānaka
- سُبْحَٰنَكَ
- "Glory be to You
- anta
- أَنتَ
- You
- waliyyunā
- وَلِيُّنَا
- (are) our Protector
- min
- مِن
- not them
- dūnihim
- دُونِهِمۖ
- not them
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used
- yaʿbudūna
- يَعْبُدُونَ
- (to) worship
- l-jina
- ٱلْجِنَّۖ
- the jinn
- aktharuhum
- أَكْثَرُهُم
- most of them
- bihim
- بِهِم
- in them
- mu'minūna
- مُّؤْمِنُونَ
- (were) believers"
They will say, "Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor excluding [i.e., not] them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them." (QS. [34] Saba: 41)Tafsir
فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ نَّفْعًا وَّلَا ضَرًّا ۗوَنَقُوْلُ لِلَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ذُوْقُوْا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّتِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُوْنَ ٤٢
- fal-yawma
- فَٱلْيَوْمَ
- But today
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yamliku
- يَمْلِكُ
- possess power
- baʿḍukum
- بَعْضُكُمْ
- some of you
- libaʿḍin
- لِبَعْضٍ
- on others
- nafʿan
- نَّفْعًا
- to benefit
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- ḍarran
- ضَرًّا
- to harm
- wanaqūlu
- وَنَقُولُ
- and We will say
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- to those
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوا۟
- who wronged
- dhūqū
- ذُوقُوا۟
- "Taste
- ʿadhāba
- عَذَابَ
- (the) punishment
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِ
- (of) the Fire
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- which
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you used
- bihā
- بِهَا
- to [it]
- tukadhibūna
- تُكَذِّبُونَ
- deny"
But today [i.e., the Day of Judgement] you do not hold for one another [the power of] benefit or harm, and We will say to those who wronged, "Taste the punishment of the Fire, which you used to deny." (QS. [34] Saba: 42)Tafsir
وَاِذَا تُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتُنَا بَيِّنٰتٍ قَالُوْا مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّا رَجُلٌ يُّرِيْدُ اَنْ يَّصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ اٰبَاۤؤُكُمْ ۚوَقَالُوْا مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّآ اِفْكٌ مُّفْتَرًىۗ وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْۙ اِنْ هٰذَآ اِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ٤٣
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- tut'lā
- تُتْلَىٰ
- are recited
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- āyātunā
- ءَايَٰتُنَا
- Our Verses
- bayyinātin
- بَيِّنَٰتٍ
- clear
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- they say
- mā
- مَا
- "Not
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآ
- (is) this
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- rajulun
- رَجُلٌ
- a man
- yurīdu
- يُرِيدُ
- who wishes
- an
- أَن
- to
- yaṣuddakum
- يَصُدَّكُمْ
- hinder you
- ʿammā
- عَمَّا
- from what
- kāna
- كَانَ
- used
- yaʿbudu
- يَعْبُدُ
- (to) worship
- ābāukum
- ءَابَآؤُكُمْ
- your forefathers"
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوا۟
- And they say
- mā
- مَا
- "Not
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآ
- (is) this
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- if'kun
- إِفْكٌ
- a lie
- muf'taran
- مُّفْتَرًىۚ
- invented"
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And said
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- lil'ḥaqqi
- لِلْحَقِّ
- about the truth
- lammā
- لَمَّا
- when
- jāahum
- جَآءَهُمْ
- it came to them
- in
- إِنْ
- "Not
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآ
- (is) this
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- siḥ'run
- سِحْرٌ
- a magic
- mubīnun
- مُّبِينٌ
- obvious"
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, they say, "This is not but a man who wishes to avert you from that which your fathers were worshipping." And they say, "This is not except a lie invented." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is not but obvious magic." (QS. [34] Saba: 43)Tafsir
وَمَآ اٰتَيْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ كُتُبٍ يَّدْرُسُوْنَهَا وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِنْ نَّذِيْرٍۗ ٤٤
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- ātaynāhum
- ءَاتَيْنَٰهُم
- We (had) given them
- min
- مِّن
- any
- kutubin
- كُتُبٍ
- Scriptures
- yadrusūnahā
- يَدْرُسُونَهَاۖ
- which they could study
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and not
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَآ
- We sent
- ilayhim
- إِلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- qablaka
- قَبْلَكَ
- before you
- min
- مِن
- any
- nadhīrin
- نَّذِيرٍ
- warner
And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner. (QS. [34] Saba: 44)Tafsir
وَكَذَّبَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۙ وَمَا بَلَغُوْا مِعْشَارَ مَآ اٰتَيْنٰهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوْا رُسُلِيْۗ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيْرِ ࣖ ٤٥
- wakadhaba
- وَكَذَّبَ
- And denied
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- min
- مِن
- (were) before them
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْ
- (were) before them
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- balaghū
- بَلَغُوا۟
- they have attained
- miʿ'shāra
- مِعْشَارَ
- a tenth
- mā
- مَآ
- (of) what
- ātaynāhum
- ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ
- We (had) given them
- fakadhabū
- فَكَذَّبُوا۟
- But they denied
- rusulī
- رُسُلِىۖ
- My Messengers
- fakayfa
- فَكَيْفَ
- so how
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- nakīri
- نَكِيرِ
- My rejection?
And those before them denied, and they [i.e., the people of Makkah] have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But they [i.e., the former peoples] denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach. (QS. [34] Saba: 45)Tafsir
۞ قُلْ اِنَّمَآ اَعِظُكُمْ بِوَاحِدَةٍۚ اَنْ تَقُوْمُوْا لِلّٰهِ مَثْنٰى وَفُرَادٰى ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوْاۗ مَا بِصَاحِبِكُمْ مِّنْ جِنَّةٍۗ اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ لَّكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيْدٍ ٤٦

- قُلْ
- Say
- innamā
- إِنَّمَآ
- "Only
- aʿiẓukum
- أَعِظُكُم
- I advise you
- biwāḥidatin
- بِوَٰحِدَةٍۖ
- for one (thing)
- an
- أَن
- that
- taqūmū
- تَقُومُوا۟
- you stand
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- for Allah
- mathnā
- مَثْنَىٰ
- (in) pairs
- wafurādā
- وَفُرَٰدَىٰ
- and (as) individuals
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- tatafakkarū
- تَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ۚ
- reflect"
- mā
- مَا
- Not
- biṣāḥibikum
- بِصَاحِبِكُم
- (is in) your companion
- min
- مِّن
- any
- jinnatin
- جِنَّةٍۚ
- madness
- in
- إِنْ
- Not
- huwa
- هُوَ
- he
- illā
- إِلَّا
- (is) except
- nadhīrun
- نَذِيرٌ
- a warner
- lakum
- لَّكُم
- for you
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- before
- yaday
- يَدَىْ
- before
- ʿadhābin
- عَذَابٍ
- a punishment
- shadīdin
- شَدِيدٍ
- severe"
Say, "I only advise you of one [thing] – that you stand for Allah, [seeking truth] in pairs and individually, and then give thought." There is not in your companion any madness. He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment. (QS. [34] Saba: 46)Tafsir
قُلْ مَا سَاَلْتُكُمْ مِّنْ اَجْرٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْۗ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۚوَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ ٤٧

- Say
- mā
- مَا
- "Not
- sa-altukum
- سَأَلْتُكُم
- I ask you
- min
- مِّنْ
- for
- ajrin
- أَجْرٍ
- any payment
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- but it (is)
- lakum
- لَكُمْۖ
- for you
- in
- إِنْ
- Not
- ajriya
- أَجْرِىَ
- (is) my payment
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- And He
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- (is) over
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- all
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- things
- shahīdun
- شَهِيدٌ
- a Witness"
Say, "Whatever payment I might have asked of you – it is yours. My payment is only from Allah, and He is, over all things, Witness." (QS. [34] Saba: 47)Tafsir
قُلْ اِنَّ رَبِّيْ يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّۚ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوْبِ ٤٨

- Say
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- yaqdhifu
- يَقْذِفُ
- projects
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- the truth
- ʿallāmu
- عَلَّٰمُ
- (the) All-Knower
- l-ghuyūbi
- ٱلْغُيُوبِ
- (of) the unseen"
Say, "Indeed, my Lord projects the truth, Knower of the unseen." (QS. [34] Saba: 48)Tafsir
قُلْ جَاۤءَ الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيْدُ ٤٩

- قُلْ
- Say
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- "Has come
- l-ḥaqu
- ٱلْحَقُّ
- the truth
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- yub'di-u
- يُبْدِئُ
- (can) originate
- l-bāṭilu
- ٱلْبَٰطِلُ
- the falsehood
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- yuʿīdu
- يُعِيدُ
- repeat"
Say, "The truth has come, and falsehood can neither begin [anything] nor repeat [it]." (QS. [34] Saba: 49)Tafsir
قُلْ اِنْ ضَلَلْتُ فَاِنَّمَآ اَضِلُّ عَلٰى نَفْسِيْۚ وَاِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ فَبِمَا يُوْحِيْٓ اِلَيَّ رَبِّيْۗ اِنَّهٗ سَمِيْعٌ قَرِيْبٌ ٥٠

- قُلْ
- Say
- in
- إِن
- "If
- ḍalaltu
- ضَلَلْتُ
- I err
- fa-innamā
- فَإِنَّمَآ
- then only
- aḍillu
- أَضِلُّ
- I will err
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- against
- nafsī
- نَفْسِىۖ
- myself
- wa-ini
- وَإِنِ
- But if
- ih'tadaytu
- ٱهْتَدَيْتُ
- I am guided
- fabimā
- فَبِمَا
- then it is by what
- yūḥī
- يُوحِىٓ
- reveals
- ilayya
- إِلَىَّ
- to me
- rabbī
- رَبِّىٓۚ
- my Lord
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed He
- samīʿun
- سَمِيعٌ
- (is) All-Hearer
- qarībun
- قَرِيبٌ
- Ever-Near"
Say, "If I should err, I would only err against myself. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is Hearing and near." (QS. [34] Saba: 50)Tafsir
