وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَنْ نُّؤْمِنَ بِهٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنِ وَلَا بِالَّذِيْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِۗ وَلَوْ تَرٰىٓ اِذِ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ مَوْقُوْفُوْنَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْۖ يَرْجِعُ بَعْضُهُمْ اِلٰى بَعْضِ ِۨالْقَوْلَۚ يَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتُضْعِفُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا لَوْلَآ اَنْتُمْ لَكُنَّا مُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٣١
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieve
- lan
- لَن
- "Never will
- nu'mina
- نُّؤْمِنَ
- we believe
- bihādhā
- بِهَٰذَا
- in this
- l-qur'āni
- ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
- Quran
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- bi-alladhī
- بِٱلَّذِى
- in (that) which
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- (was) before it"
- yadayhi
- يَدَيْهِۗ
- (was) before it"
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- But if
- tarā
- تَرَىٰٓ
- you (could) see
- idhi
- إِذِ
- when
- l-ẓālimūna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
- the wrongdoers
- mawqūfūna
- مَوْقُوفُونَ
- will be made to stand
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- before
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- yarjiʿu
- يَرْجِعُ
- will throw back
- baʿḍuhum
- بَعْضُهُمْ
- some of them
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍ
- others
- l-qawla
- ٱلْقَوْلَ
- the word
- yaqūlu
- يَقُولُ
- Will say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- us'tuḍ'ʿifū
- ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟
- were oppressed
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- to those who
- is'takbarū
- ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
- were arrogant
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- "If not
- antum
- أَنتُمْ
- (for) you
- lakunnā
- لَكُنَّا
- certainly we (would) have been
- mu'minīna
- مُؤْمِنِينَ
- believers"
And those who disbelieve say, "We will never believe in this Quran nor in that before it." But if you could see when the wrongdoers are made to stand before their Lord, refuting each others' words... Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "If not for you, we would have been believers." (QS. [34] Saba: 31)Tafsir
قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اسْتُضْعِفُوْٓا اَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنٰكُمْ عَنِ الْهُدٰى بَعْدَ اِذْ جَاۤءَكُمْ بَلْ كُنْتُمْ مُّجْرِمِيْنَ ٣٢
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Will say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- is'takbarū
- ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
- were arrogant
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- to those
- us'tuḍ'ʿifū
- ٱسْتُضْعِفُوٓا۟
- who were oppressed
- anaḥnu
- أَنَحْنُ
- "Did we
- ṣadadnākum
- صَدَدْنَٰكُمْ
- avert you
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- from
- l-hudā
- ٱلْهُدَىٰ
- the guidance
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- jāakum
- جَآءَكُمۖ
- it had come to you?
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you were
- muj'rimīna
- مُّجْرِمِينَ
- criminals"
Those who were arrogant will say to those who were oppressed, "Did we avert you from guidance after it had come to you? Rather, you were criminals." (QS. [34] Saba: 32)Tafsir
وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتُضْعِفُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا بَلْ مَكْرُ الَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ اِذْ تَأْمُرُوْنَنَآ اَنْ نَّكْفُرَ بِاللّٰهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهٗٓ اَنْدَادًا ۗوَاَسَرُّوا النَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَاَوُا الْعَذَابَۗ وَجَعَلْنَا الْاَغْلٰلَ فِيْٓ اَعْنَاقِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْاۗ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ اِلَّا مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ٣٣
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And will say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- us'tuḍ'ʿifū
- ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟
- were oppressed
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- to those who
- is'takbarū
- ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
- were arrogant
- bal
- بَلْ
- "Nay
- makru
- مَكْرُ
- (it was) a plot
- al-layli
- ٱلَّيْلِ
- (by) night
- wal-nahāri
- وَٱلنَّهَارِ
- and (by) day
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- tamurūnanā
- تَأْمُرُونَنَآ
- you were ordering us
- an
- أَن
- that
- nakfura
- نَّكْفُرَ
- we disbelieve
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wanajʿala
- وَنَجْعَلَ
- and we set up
- lahu
- لَهُۥٓ
- for Him
- andādan
- أَندَادًاۚ
- equals"
- wa-asarrū
- وَأَسَرُّوا۟
- But they will conceal
- l-nadāmata
- ٱلنَّدَامَةَ
- the regret
- lammā
- لَمَّا
- when
- ra-awū
- رَأَوُا۟
- they see
- l-ʿadhāba
- ٱلْعَذَابَ
- the punishment
- wajaʿalnā
- وَجَعَلْنَا
- And We will put
- l-aghlāla
- ٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ
- shackles
- fī
- فِىٓ
- on
- aʿnāqi
- أَعْنَاقِ
- (the) necks
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟ۚ
- disbelieved
- hal
- هَلْ
- Will
- yuj'zawna
- يُجْزَوْنَ
- they be recompensed
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- mā
- مَا
- (for) what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used to
- yaʿmalūna
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- do?
Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals." But they will [all] confide regret when they see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do? (QS. [34] Saba: 33)Tafsir
وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَا فِيْ قَرْيَةٍ مِّنْ نَّذِيْرٍ ِالَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوْهَآ ۙاِنَّا بِمَآ اُرْسِلْتُمْ بِهٖ كٰفِرُوْنَ ٣٤
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَا
- We sent
- fī
- فِى
- to
- qaryatin
- قَرْيَةٍ
- a town
- min
- مِّن
- any
- nadhīrin
- نَّذِيرٍ
- warner
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- qāla
- قَالَ
- said
- mut'rafūhā
- مُتْرَفُوهَآ
- its wealthy ones
- innā
- إِنَّا
- "Indeed we
- bimā
- بِمَآ
- in what
- ur'sil'tum
- أُرْسِلْتُم
- you have been sent
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with
- kāfirūna
- كَٰفِرُونَ
- (are) disbelievers"
And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers." (QS. [34] Saba: 34)Tafsir
وَقَالُوْا نَحْنُ اَكْثَرُ اَمْوَالًا وَّاَوْلَادًاۙ وَّمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِيْنَ ٣٥
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوا۟
- And they say
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- "We
- aktharu
- أَكْثَرُ
- (have) more
- amwālan
- أَمْوَٰلًا
- wealth
- wa-awlādan
- وَأَوْلَٰدًا
- and children
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- bimuʿadhabīna
- بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
- will be punished"
And they said, "We are more [than the believers] in wealth and children, and we are not to be punished." (QS. [34] Saba: 35)Tafsir
قُلْ اِنَّ رَبِّيْ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ࣖ ٣٦
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- yabsuṭu
- يَبْسُطُ
- extends
- l-riz'qa
- ٱلرِّزْقَ
- the provision
- liman
- لِمَن
- for whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُ
- He wills
- wayaqdiru
- وَيَقْدِرُ
- and restricts
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- akthara
- أَكْثَرَ
- most
- l-nāsi
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- [the] people
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- know"
Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it], but most of the people do not know." (QS. [34] Saba: 36)Tafsir
وَمَآ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَآ اَوْلَادُكُمْ بِالَّتِيْ تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِنْدَنَا زُلْفٰىٓ اِلَّا مَنْ اٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًاۙ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمْ جَزَاۤءُ الضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوْا وَهُمْ فِى الْغُرُفٰتِ اٰمِنُوْنَ ٣٧
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- amwālukum
- أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ
- your wealth
- walā
- وَلَآ
- and not
- awlādukum
- أَوْلَٰدُكُم
- your children
- bi-allatī
- بِٱلَّتِى
- [that]
- tuqarribukum
- تُقَرِّبُكُمْ
- will bring you close
- ʿindanā
- عِندَنَا
- to Us
- zul'fā
- زُلْفَىٰٓ
- (in) position
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- man
- مَنْ
- whoever
- āmana
- ءَامَنَ
- believes
- waʿamila
- وَعَمِلَ
- and does
- ṣāliḥan
- صَٰلِحًا
- righteousness
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- jazāu
- جَزَآءُ
- (will be) reward
- l-ḍiʿ'fi
- ٱلضِّعْفِ
- two-fold
- bimā
- بِمَا
- for what
- ʿamilū
- عَمِلُوا۟
- they did
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- and they
- fī
- فِى
- (will be) in
- l-ghurufāti
- ٱلْغُرُفَٰتِ
- the high dwellings
- āminūna
- ءَامِنُونَ
- secure
And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in position, but it is [by being] one who has believed and done righteousness. For them there will be the double reward for what they did, and they will be in the upper chambers [of Paradise], safe [and secure]. (QS. [34] Saba: 37)Tafsir
وَالَّذِيْنَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِيْٓ اٰيٰتِنَا مُعٰجِزِيْنَ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ فِى الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُوْنَ ٣٨
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- And those who
- yasʿawna
- يَسْعَوْنَ
- strive
- fī
- فِىٓ
- against
- āyātinā
- ءَايَٰتِنَا
- Our Verses
- muʿājizīna
- مُعَٰجِزِينَ
- (to) cause failure
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- those
- fī
- فِى
- into
- l-ʿadhābi
- ٱلْعَذَابِ
- the punishment
- muḥ'ḍarūna
- مُحْضَرُونَ
- (will be) brought
And the ones who strive against Our verses to cause [them] failure – those will be brought into the punishment [to remain]. (QS. [34] Saba: 38)Tafsir
قُلْ اِنَّ رَبِّيْ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهٖ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهٗ ۗوَمَآ اَنْفَقْتُمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهٗ ۚوَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرّٰزِقِيْنَ ٣٩

- قُلْ
- Say
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- yabsuṭu
- يَبْسُطُ
- extends
- l-riz'qa
- ٱلرِّزْقَ
- the provision
- liman
- لِمَن
- for whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُ
- He wills
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- ʿibādihi
- عِبَادِهِۦ
- His slaves
- wayaqdiru
- وَيَقْدِرُ
- and restricts
- lahu
- لَهُۥۚ
- for him
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- But what
- anfaqtum
- أَنفَقْتُم
- you spend
- min
- مِّن
- of
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- anything
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- then He
- yukh'lifuhu
- يُخْلِفُهُۥۖ
- will compensate it
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- and He
- khayru
- خَيْرُ
- (is the) Best
- l-rāziqīna
- ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
- (of) the Providers
Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] – He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers." (QS. [34] Saba: 39)Tafsir
وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيْعًا ثُمَّ يَقُوْلُ لِلْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ اَهٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ اِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوْا يَعْبُدُوْنَ ٤٠
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (the) Day
- yaḥshuruhum
- يَحْشُرُهُمْ
- He will gather them
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- yaqūlu
- يَقُولُ
- He will say
- lil'malāikati
- لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
- to the Angels
- ahāulāi
- أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- "Were these you
- iyyākum
- إِيَّاكُمْ
- "Were these you
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they were
- yaʿbudūna
- يَعْبُدُونَ
- worshipping?"
And [mention] the Day when He will gather them all and then say to the angels, "Did these [people] used to worship you?" (QS. [34] Saba: 40)Tafsir
