Ali 'Imran [3]: 88 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ۚ لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُوْنَۙ (آل عمران : ٣)

(They will) abide forever

يُخَفَّفُ
will be lightened

عَنْهُمُ
for them
l-ʿadhābu
ٱلْعَذَابُ
the punishment
walā
وَلَا
and not

يُنظَرُونَ
will be reprieved

Transliteration:

Khaalideena feehaa laa yukhaffafu 'anhumul 'azaabu wa laa hum yunzaroon (QS. ʾĀl ʿImrān:88)

English / Sahih Translation:

Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved, (QS. Ali 'Imran, ayah 88)

They will remain under it forever. Neither will the punishment be lightened for them, nor will they be given respite,

They will be in Hell forever. Their punishment will not be lightened, nor will they be delayed ˹from it˺.

Immortally/eternally in it, the torture is not reduced/lightened on/from them, and nor they be given time/delayed .

In this state they shall abide forever; their punishment shall not be lightened nor shall they be granted respite.

Remaining in it eternally, without their punishment being eased from them, and without being reprieved.

Tafsir jalalayn

Abiding therein, that is, in the curse, or in the Fire implied by it [the curse]; the chastisement shall not be lightened for them and they shall not be reprieved, they shall [not] be given any respite.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا



They will abide therein,

in the curse.

لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ



Neither will their torment be lightened nor will it be delayed or postponed.

for, the torment will not be lessened, not even for an hour.

After that, Allah said,

إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ تَابُواْ مِن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُواْ فَإِنَّ الله غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
