Ali 'Imran [3]: 114 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُوْنَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُسَارِعُوْنَ فِى الْخَيْرٰتِۗ وَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ (آل عمران : ٣)

yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
They believe
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
wal-yawmi
وَٱلْيَوْمِ
and the Day
l-ākhiri
ٱلْءَاخِرِ
the Last
wayamurūna
وَيَأْمُرُونَ
and they enjoin
bil-maʿrūfi
بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ
[with] the right
wayanhawna
وَيَنْهَوْنَ
and forbid
ʿani
عَنِ
[from]
l-munkari
ٱلْمُنكَرِ
the wrong
wayusāriʿūna
وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ
and they hasten
فِى
in
l-khayrāti
ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ
the good deeds
wa-ulāika
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
And those
mina
مِنَ
(are) from
l-ṣāliḥīna
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
the righteous

Transliteration:

Yu'minoona billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wa yaa muroona bilma'roofi wa yanhawna 'anil munkari wa yusaari'oona fil khairaati wa ulaa'ika minas saaliheen (QS. ʾĀl ʿImrān:114)

English / Sahih Translation:

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous. (QS. Ali 'Imran, ayah 114)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

they believe in Allah and the Hereafter, and bid the Fair and forbid the Unfair, and hasten towards good deeds. They are among the righteous.

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, encourage good and forbid evil, and race with one another in doing good. They are ˹truly˺ among the righteous.

They believe in God and the Last Day, and enjoin and promote what is right and good and forbid and try to prevent the evil, and hasten to do good deeds as if competing with one another. Those are of the righteous ones.

Amatul Rahman Omar

They believe in Allâh and the Last Day and enjoin good and forbid evil, and they vie one with another in (doing) good deeds. And it is these who are of the truly righteous.

English Literal

They believe with God and the Day the Last/Resurrection Day, and they order/command with the kindness/known , and they forbid/prevent from the awfulness/obscenity , and they rush in the goodness (good deeds), and those are from the correct/righteous.

They accept faith in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin good deeds and forbid immorality, and hasten to perform good deeds; and they are the righteous.

What good they do, surely Allah will not deny its merit, for Allah is Aware of those who fear (or repel) evil.

They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (Islamic Monotheism, and following Prophet Muhammad SAW) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and opposing Prophet Muhammad SAW); and they hasten in (all) good works; and they are among the righteous.

They are not all alike. Of the People of the Book there is an upright party who recite Allah’s messages in the night-time and they adore (Him).

They believe in Allah and the last day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong and they strive with one another in hastening to good deeds, and those are among the good.

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency, and vie one with another in good works. These are of the righteous.

They believe in God and the Day of Judgment. They command people to follow good, prohibit others from committing evil and compete with each other in doing good deeds. These are the righteous ones.

Qaribullah & Darwish

who believe in Allah and the Last Day, who order honor and forbid dishonor and race in good works. These are the righteous.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin Al-Ma`ruf and forbid Al-Munkar; and they hasten in (all) good works; and they are among the righteous.

Wahiduddin Khan

who believe in God and the Last Day, who enjoin justice and forbid evil and vie with each other in good works. These are righteous men

Talal Itani

They believe in God and the Last Day, and advocate righteousness and forbid evil, and are quick to do good deeds. These are among the righteous.

Tafsir jalalayn

They believe in God and in the Last Day, enjoining decency and forbidding indecency, vying with one another in good works; those, described in the way God has mentioned, are of the righteous, and some of them are not like this and are not righteous.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin Al-Ma`ruf and forbid Al-Munkar; and they hasten in (all) good works; and they are among the righteous. (3;114)

This is the same type of people mentioned at the end of the Surah;

وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَمَن يُوْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَأ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَاشِعِينَ لِلّهِ


And there are, certainly, among the People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), those who believe in Allah and in that which has been revealed to you, and in that which has been revealed to them, humbling themselves before Allah. (3;199)

Allah said here
