وَاِذْ اَخَذَ اللّٰهُ مِيْثَاقَ النَّبِيّٖنَ لَمَآ اٰتَيْتُكُمْ مِّنْ كِتٰبٍ وَّحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاۤءَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهٖ وَلَتَنْصُرُنَّهٗ ۗ قَالَ ءَاَقْرَرْتُمْ وَاَخَذْتُمْ عَلٰى ذٰلِكُمْ اِصْرِيْ ۗ قَالُوْٓا اَقْرَرْنَا ۗ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوْا وَاَنَا۠ مَعَكُمْ مِّنَ الشّٰهِدِيْنَ ٨١
- wa-idh
- وَإِذْ
- And when
- akhadha
- أَخَذَ
- took
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- mīthāqa
- مِيثَٰقَ
- covenant
- l-nabiyīna
- ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ
- (of) the Prophets
- lamā
- لَمَآ
- "Certainly, whatever
- ātaytukum
- ءَاتَيْتُكُم
- I (have) given you
- min
- مِّن
- of
- kitābin
- كِتَٰبٍ
- (the) Book
- waḥik'matin
- وَحِكْمَةٍ
- and wisdom
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- jāakum
- جَآءَكُمْ
- comes to you
- rasūlun
- رَسُولٌ
- a Messenger
- muṣaddiqun
- مُّصَدِّقٌ
- confirming
- limā
- لِّمَا
- that which
- maʿakum
- مَعَكُمْ
- (is) with you
- latu'minunna
- لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ
- you must believe
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- in him
- walatanṣurunnahu
- وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥۚ
- and you must help him"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- a-aqrartum
- ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ
- "Do you affirm
- wa-akhadhtum
- وَأَخَذْتُمْ
- and take
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- dhālikum
- ذَٰلِكُمْ
- that (condition)
- iṣ'rī
- إِصْرِىۖ
- My Covenant
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- aqrarnā
- أَقْرَرْنَاۚ
- "We affirm"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- fa-ish'hadū
- فَٱشْهَدُوا۟
- "Then bear witness
- wa-anā
- وَأَنَا۠
- and I (am)
- maʿakum
- مَعَكُم
- with you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- among
- l-shāhidīna
- ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
- the witnesses"
And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], "Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him." [Allah] said, "Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?" They said, "We have acknowledged it." He said, "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 81)Tafsir
فَمَنْ تَوَلّٰى بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْفٰسِقُوْنَ ٨٢
- faman
- فَمَن
- Then whoever
- tawallā
- تَوَلَّىٰ
- turns away
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-fāsiqūna
- ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
- (are) the defiantly disobedient
And whoever turned away after that – they were the defiantly disobedient. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 82)Tafsir
اَفَغَيْرَ دِيْنِ اللّٰهِ يَبْغُوْنَ وَلَهٗ ٓ اَسْلَمَ مَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَّكَرْهًا وَّاِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُوْنَ ٨٣
- afaghayra
- أَفَغَيْرَ
- So is (it) other than
- dīni
- دِينِ
- (the) religion
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- yabghūna
- يَبْغُونَ
- they seek?
- walahu
- وَلَهُۥٓ
- While to Him
- aslama
- أَسْلَمَ
- (have) submitted
- man
- مَن
- whatever
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- and the earth
- ṭawʿan
- طَوْعًا
- willingly
- wakarhan
- وَكَرْهًا
- or unwillingly
- wa-ilayhi
- وَإِلَيْهِ
- and towards Him
- yur'jaʿūna
- يُرْجَعُونَ
- they will be returned
So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned? (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 83)Tafsir
قُلْ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ وَمَآ اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ اُنْزِلَ عَلٰٓى اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاِسْمٰعِيْلَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ وَالْاَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ اُوْتِيَ مُوْسٰى وَعِيْسٰى وَالنَّبِيُّوْنَ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْۖ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ اَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْۖ وَنَحْنُ لَهٗ مُسْلِمُوْنَ ٨٤
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- āmannā
- ءَامَنَّا
- "We believed
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and what
- unzila
- أُنزِلَ
- (is) revealed
- ʿalaynā
- عَلَيْنَا
- on us
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and what
- unzila
- أُنزِلَ
- was revealed
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰٓ
- on
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- Ibrahim
- wa-is'māʿīla
- وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ
- and Ismail
- wa-is'ḥāqa
- وَإِسْحَٰقَ
- and Ishaq
- wayaʿqūba
- وَيَعْقُوبَ
- and Yaqub
- wal-asbāṭi
- وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ
- and the descendents
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and what
- ūtiya
- أُوتِىَ
- was given
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰ
- (to) Musa
- waʿīsā
- وَعِيسَىٰ
- and Isa
- wal-nabiyūna
- وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ
- and the Prophets
- min
- مِن
- from
- rabbihim
- رَّبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- nufarriqu
- نُفَرِّقُ
- we make distinction
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- aḥadin
- أَحَدٍ
- any
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- of them
- wanaḥnu
- وَنَحْنُ
- and we
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to Him
- mus'limūna
- مُسْلِمُونَ
- (are) submissive
Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants [al-Asbat], and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 84)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يَّبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْاِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا فَلَنْ يُّقْبَلَ مِنْهُۚ وَهُوَ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ ٨٥
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yabtaghi
- يَبْتَغِ
- seeks
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- other than
- l-is'lāmi
- ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ
- [the] Islam
- dīnan
- دِينًا
- (as) religion
- falan
- فَلَن
- then never
- yuq'bala
- يُقْبَلَ
- will be accepted
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- from him
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- and he
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-ākhirati
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- the Hereafter
- mina
- مِنَ
- (will be) from
- l-khāsirīna
- ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
- the losers
And whoever desires other than IsLam as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 85)Tafsir
كَيْفَ يَهْدِى اللّٰهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوْا بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوْٓا اَنَّ الرَّسُوْلَ حَقٌّ وَّجَاۤءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنٰتُ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٨٦
- kayfa
- كَيْفَ
- How
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- (shall) guide
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- qawman
- قَوْمًا
- a people
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- (who) disbelieved
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- īmānihim
- إِيمَٰنِهِمْ
- their belief
- washahidū
- وَشَهِدُوٓا۟
- and (had) witnessed
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-rasūla
- ٱلرَّسُولَ
- the Messenger
- ḥaqqun
- حَقٌّ
- (is) true
- wajāahumu
- وَجَآءَهُمُ
- and came to them
- l-bayinātu
- ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُۚ
- the clear proofs?
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- guide
- l-qawma
- ٱلْقَوْمَ
- the people
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- [the] wrongdoers
How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 86)Tafsir
اُولٰۤىِٕكَ جَزَاۤؤُهُمْ اَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ اللّٰهِ وَالْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ اَجْمَعِيْنَۙ ٨٧
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those -
- jazāuhum
- جَزَآؤُهُمْ
- their recompense
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- on them
- laʿnata
- لَعْنَةَ
- (is the) curse
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- wal-malāikati
- وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
- and the Angels
- wal-nāsi
- وَٱلنَّاسِ
- and the people
- ajmaʿīna
- أَجْمَعِينَ
- all together
Those – their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allah and the angels and the people, all together, (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 87)Tafsir
خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ۚ لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُوْنَۙ ٨٨
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- (They will) abide forever
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in it
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- yukhaffafu
- يُخَفَّفُ
- will be lightened
- ʿanhumu
- عَنْهُمُ
- for them
- l-ʿadhābu
- ٱلْعَذَابُ
- the punishment
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- yunẓarūna
- يُنظَرُونَ
- will be reprieved
Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved, (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 88)Tafsir
اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ تَابُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ وَاَصْلَحُوْاۗ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٨٩
- illā
- إِلَّا
- Except
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- tābū
- تَابُوا۟
- repent
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- baʿdi
- بَعْدِ
- after
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- wa-aṣlaḥū
- وَأَصْلَحُوا۟
- and reform[ed] themselves
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- Then indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 89)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِهِمْ ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوْا كُفْرًا لَّنْ تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ ۚ وَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الضَّاۤلُّوْنَ ٩٠
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- īmānihim
- إِيمَٰنِهِمْ
- their belief
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- iz'dādū
- ٱزْدَادُوا۟
- they increased
- kuf'ran
- كُفْرًا
- (in) disbelief
- lan
- لَّن
- never
- tuq'bala
- تُقْبَلَ
- will be accepted
- tawbatuhum
- تَوْبَتُهُمْ
- their repentance
- wa-ulāika
- وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- and those -
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-ḍālūna
- ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
- (are) those who have gone astray
Indeed, those who disbelieve [i.e., reject the message] after their belief and then increase in disbelief – never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 90)Tafsir
