قُلْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّوْنَ اللّٰهَ فَاتَّبِعُوْنِيْ يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللّٰهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوْبَكُمْ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٣١
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- in
- إِن
- "If
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you
- tuḥibbūna
- تُحِبُّونَ
- love
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- fa-ittabiʿūnī
- فَٱتَّبِعُونِى
- then follow me
- yuḥ'bib'kumu
- يُحْبِبْكُمُ
- will love you
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- wayaghfir
- وَيَغْفِرْ
- and He will forgive
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- for you
- dhunūbakum
- ذُنُوبَكُمْۗ
- your sins
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 31)Tafsir
قُلْ اَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ ۚ فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ٣٢
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- aṭīʿū
- أَطِيعُوا۟
- "Obey
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- wal-rasūla
- وَٱلرَّسُولَۖ
- and the Messenger"
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- Then if
- tawallaw
- تَوَلَّوْا۟
- they turn away
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- love
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers
Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger. But if you turn away – then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 32)Tafsir
۞ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ اصْطَفٰىٓ اٰدَمَ وَنُوْحًا وَّاٰلَ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاٰلَ عِمْرَانَ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ ٣٣
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- iṣ'ṭafā
- ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ
- chose
- ādama
- ءَادَمَ
- Adam
- wanūḥan
- وَنُوحًا
- and Nuh
- waāla
- وَءَالَ
- and (the) family
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- (of) Ibrahim
- waāla
- وَءَالَ
- and (the) family
- ʿim'rāna
- عِمْرَٰنَ
- (of) Imran
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- over
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- the worlds
Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of Imran over the worlds – (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 33)Tafsir
ذُرِّيَّةً ۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنْۢ بَعْضٍۗ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌۚ ٣٤
- dhurriyyatan
- ذُرِّيَّةًۢ
- Descendents
- baʿḍuhā
- بَعْضُهَا
- some of them
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍۗ
- others
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- samīʿun
- سَمِيعٌ
- (is) All-Hearing
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- All-Knowing
Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 34)Tafsir
اِذْ قَالَتِ امْرَاَتُ عِمْرَانَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِيْ بَطْنِيْ مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّيْ ۚ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ٣٥
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- qālati
- قَالَتِ
- [she] said
- im'ra-atu
- ٱمْرَأَتُ
- (the) wife
- ʿim'rāna
- عِمْرَٰنَ
- (of) Imran
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord!
- innī
- إِنِّى
- Indeed I
- nadhartu
- نَذَرْتُ
- [I] vowed
- laka
- لَكَ
- to You
- mā
- مَا
- what
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- baṭnī
- بَطْنِى
- my womb
- muḥarraran
- مُحَرَّرًا
- dedicated
- fataqabbal
- فَتَقَبَّلْ
- so accept
- minnī
- مِنِّىٓۖ
- from me
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- Indeed You
- anta
- أَنتَ
- You
- l-samīʿu
- ٱلسَّمِيعُ
- (are) the All-Hearing
- l-ʿalīmu
- ٱلْعَلِيمُ
- the All-Knowing
[Mention, O Muhammad], when the wife of Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 35)Tafsir
فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ وَضَعْتُهَآ اُنْثٰىۗ وَاللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْۗ وَلَيْسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالْاُنْثٰى ۚ وَاِنِّيْ سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَاِنِّيْٓ اُعِيْذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ الرَّجِيْمِ ٣٦
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- Then when
- waḍaʿathā
- وَضَعَتْهَا
- she delivered her
- qālat
- قَالَتْ
- she said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord
- innī
- إِنِّى
- indeed I
- waḍaʿtuhā
- وَضَعْتُهَآ
- [I] (have) delivered [her]
- unthā
- أُنثَىٰ
- a female"
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- knows better
- bimā
- بِمَا
- [of] what
- waḍaʿat
- وَضَعَتْ
- she delivered
- walaysa
- وَلَيْسَ
- and is not
- l-dhakaru
- ٱلذَّكَرُ
- the male
- kal-unthā
- كَٱلْأُنثَىٰۖ
- like the female
- wa-innī
- وَإِنِّى
- "And that I
- sammaytuhā
- سَمَّيْتُهَا
- [I] (have) named her
- maryama
- مَرْيَمَ
- Maryam
- wa-innī
- وَإِنِّىٓ
- and that I
- uʿīdhuhā
- أُعِيذُهَا
- [I] seek refuge for her
- bika
- بِكَ
- in You
- wadhurriyyatahā
- وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا
- and her offspring
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-shayṭāni
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ
- the Shaitaan
- l-rajīmi
- ٱلرَّجِيمِ
- the rejected"
But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, and the male is not like the female. "And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 36)Tafsir
فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُوْلٍ حَسَنٍ وَّاَنْۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًاۖ وَّكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا ۗ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا الْمِحْرَابَۙ وَجَدَ عِنْدَهَا رِزْقًا ۚ قَالَ يٰمَرْيَمُ اَنّٰى لَكِ هٰذَا ۗ قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ٣٧
- fataqabbalahā
- فَتَقَبَّلَهَا
- So accepted her
- rabbuhā
- رَبُّهَا
- her Lord
- biqabūlin
- بِقَبُولٍ
- with acceptance
- ḥasanin
- حَسَنٍ
- good
- wa-anbatahā
- وَأَنۢبَتَهَا
- and made her grow
- nabātan
- نَبَاتًا
- a growing
- ḥasanan
- حَسَنًا
- good
- wakaffalahā
- وَكَفَّلَهَا
- and put her in (the) care
- zakariyyā
- زَكَرِيَّاۖ
- (of) Zakariya
- kullamā
- كُلَّمَا
- Whenever
- dakhala
- دَخَلَ
- entered
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَا
- upon her
- zakariyyā
- زَكَرِيَّا
- Zakariya
- l-miḥ'rāba
- ٱلْمِحْرَابَ
- [the] prayer chamber
- wajada
- وَجَدَ
- he found
- ʿindahā
- عِندَهَا
- with her
- riz'qan
- رِزْقًاۖ
- provision
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- yāmaryamu
- يَٰمَرْيَمُ
- "O Maryam!
- annā
- أَنَّىٰ
- From where
- laki
- لَكِ
- for you
- hādhā
- هَٰذَاۖ
- (is) this?"
- qālat
- قَالَتْ
- She said
- huwa
- هُوَ
- "This
- min
- مِنْ
- (is)
- ʿindi
- عِندِ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yarzuqu
- يَرْزُقُ
- gives provision
- man
- مَن
- (to) whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُ
- He wills
- bighayri
- بِغَيْرِ
- without
- ḥisābin
- حِسَابٍ
- measure"
So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 37)Tafsir
هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهٗ ۚ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۚ اِنَّكَ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَاۤءِ ٣٨

- هُنَالِكَ
- There only
- daʿā
- دَعَا
- invoked
- zakariyyā
- زَكَرِيَّا
- Zakariya
- rabbahu
- رَبَّهُۥۖ
- his Lord
- qāla
- قَالَ
- he said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord
- hab
- هَبْ
- grant
- lī
- لِى
- [for] me
- min
- مِن
- from
- ladunka
- لَّدُنكَ
- Yourself
- dhurriyyatan
- ذُرِّيَّةً
- offspring
- ṭayyibatan
- طَيِّبَةًۖ
- pure
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- Indeed, You
- samīʿu
- سَمِيعُ
- (are) All-Hearer
- l-duʿāi
- ٱلدُّعَآءِ
- (of) the prayer
At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 38)Tafsir
فَنَادَتْهُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ وَهُوَ قَاۤىِٕمٌ يُّصَلِّيْ فِى الْمِحْرَابِۙ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيٰى مُصَدِّقًاۢ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَّحَصُوْرًا وَّنَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ٣٩
- fanādathu
- فَنَادَتْهُ
- Then called him
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- when he
- qāimun
- قَآئِمٌ
- (was) standing -
- yuṣallī
- يُصَلِّى
- praying
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-miḥ'rābi
- ٱلْمِحْرَابِ
- the prayer chamber
- anna
- أَنَّ
- "Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yubashiruka
- يُبَشِّرُكَ
- gives you glad tidings
- biyaḥyā
- بِيَحْيَىٰ
- of Yahya
- muṣaddiqan
- مُصَدِّقًۢا
- confirming
- bikalimatin
- بِكَلِمَةٍ
- [of] a Word
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- wasayyidan
- وَسَيِّدًا
- and a noble
- waḥaṣūran
- وَحَصُورًا
- and chaste
- wanabiyyan
- وَنَبِيًّا
- and a Prophet
- mina
- مِّنَ
- among
- l-ṣāliḥīna
- ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
- the righteous
So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 39)Tafsir
قَالَ رَبِّ اَنّٰى يَكُوْنُ لِيْ غُلٰمٌ وَّقَدْ بَلَغَنِيَ الْكِبَرُ وَامْرَاَتِيْ عَاقِرٌ ۗ قَالَ كَذٰلِكَ اللّٰهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاۤءُ ٤٠
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord
- annā
- أَنَّىٰ
- how
- yakūnu
- يَكُونُ
- can (there) be
- lī
- لِى
- for me
- ghulāmun
- غُلَٰمٌ
- a son
- waqad
- وَقَدْ
- and verily
- balaghaniya
- بَلَغَنِىَ
- has reached me
- l-kibaru
- ٱلْكِبَرُ
- [the] old age
- wa-im'ra-atī
- وَٱمْرَأَتِى
- and my wife
- ʿāqirun
- عَاقِرٌۖ
- (is) [a] barren?"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- kadhālika
- كَذَٰلِكَ
- "Thus;
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- yafʿalu
- يَفْعَلُ
- does
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُ
- He wills"
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" He [the angel] said, "Such is Allah; He does what He wills." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 40)Tafsir
