وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ اَنْ يَّغُلَّ ۗوَمَنْ يَّغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۚ ثُمَّ تُوَفّٰى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ ١٦١
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- linabiyyin
- لِنَبِىٍّ
- for a Prophet
- an
- أَن
- that
- yaghulla
- يَغُلَّۚ
- he defrauds
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yaghlul
- يَغْلُلْ
- defrauds
- yati
- يَأْتِ
- will bring
- bimā
- بِمَا
- what
- ghalla
- غَلَّ
- he had defrauded
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۚ
- (of) Resurrection
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- tuwaffā
- تُوَفَّىٰ
- is repaid in full
- kullu
- كُلُّ
- every
- nafsin
- نَفْسٍ
- soul
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kasabat
- كَسَبَتْ
- it earned
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- and they
- lā
- لَا
- (will) not
- yuẓ'lamūna
- يُظْلَمُونَ
- be wronged
It is not [attributable] to any prophet that he would act unfaithfully [in regard to war booty]. And whoever betrays, [taking unlawfully], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 161)Tafsir
اَفَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَ اللّٰهِ كَمَنْۢ بَاۤءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَمَأْوٰىهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۗ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ ١٦٢
- afamani
- أَفَمَنِ
- So is (the one) who
- ittabaʿa
- ٱتَّبَعَ
- pursues
- riḍ'wāna
- رِضْوَٰنَ
- (the) pleasure
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- kaman
- كَمَنۢ
- like (the one) who
- bāa
- بَآءَ
- draws
- bisakhaṭin
- بِسَخَطٍ
- on (himself) wrath
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- wamawāhu
- وَمَأْوَىٰهُ
- and his abode
- jahannamu
- جَهَنَّمُۚ
- (is) hell
- wabi'sa
- وَبِئْسَ
- and wretched
- l-maṣīru
- ٱلْمَصِيرُ
- (is) the destination?
So is one who pursues the pleasure of Allah like one who brings upon himself the anger of Allah and whose refuge is Hell? And wretched is the destination. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 162)Tafsir
هُمْ دَرَجٰتٌ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ بَصِيْرٌ ۢبِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٦٣
- hum
- هُمْ
- They
- darajātun
- دَرَجَٰتٌ
- (are in varying) degrees
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- near
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۗ
- Allah
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- and Allah
- baṣīrun
- بَصِيرٌۢ
- (is) All-Seer
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- yaʿmalūna
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- they do
They are [varying] degrees in the sight of Allah, and Allah is Seeing of whatever they do. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 163)Tafsir
لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اِذْ بَعَثَ فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِهٖ وَيُزَكِّيْهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَۚ وَاِنْ كَانُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ لَفِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ١٦٤

- لَقَدْ
- Certainly
- manna
- مَنَّ
- bestowed a Favor
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- upon
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- idh
- إِذْ
- as
- baʿatha
- بَعَثَ
- He raised
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْ
- among them
- rasūlan
- رَسُولًا
- a Messenger
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْ
- themselves
- yatlū
- يَتْلُوا۟
- reciting
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- āyātihi
- ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
- His Verses
- wayuzakkīhim
- وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ
- and purifying them
- wayuʿallimuhumu
- وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
- and teaching them
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- wal-ḥik'mata
- وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
- and the wisdom
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- although
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they were
- min
- مِن
- from
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before (that)
- lafī
- لَفِى
- certainly in
- ḍalālin
- ضَلَٰلٍ
- (the) error
- mubīnin
- مُّبِينٍ
- clear
Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Quran] and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 164)Tafsir
اَوَلَمَّآ اَصَابَتْكُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ قَدْ اَصَبْتُمْ مِّثْلَيْهَاۙ قُلْتُمْ اَنّٰى هٰذَا ۗ قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اَنْفُسِكُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ١٦٥
- awalammā
- أَوَلَمَّآ
- Or
- aṣābatkum
- أَصَٰبَتْكُم
- when
- muṣībatun
- مُّصِيبَةٌ
- struck you
- qad
- قَدْ
- disaster
- aṣabtum
- أَصَبْتُم
- surely
- mith'layhā
- مِّثْلَيْهَا
- you had struck (them)
- qul'tum
- قُلْتُمْ
- twice of it
- annā
- أَنَّىٰ
- you said
- hādhā
- هَٰذَاۖ
- "From where
- qul
- قُلْ
- (is) this?"
- huwa
- هُوَ
- Say
- min
- مِنْ
- "It
- ʿindi
- عِندِ
- (is) from
- anfusikum
- أَنفُسِكُمْۗ
- yourselves"
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- (is) on
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- thing
- qadīrun
- قَدِيرٌ
- All-Powerful
Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves [i.e., due to your sin]." Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 165)Tafsir
وَمَآ اَصَابَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعٰنِ فَبِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۙ ١٦٦
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And what
- aṣābakum
- أَصَٰبَكُمْ
- struck you
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on the) day
- l-taqā
- ٱلْتَقَى
- (when) met
- l-jamʿāni
- ٱلْجَمْعَانِ
- the two hosts
- fabi-idh'ni
- فَبِإِذْنِ
- by (the) permission
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- waliyaʿlama
- وَلِيَعْلَمَ
- and that He (might) make evident
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
And what struck you on the day the two armies met [at Uhud] was by permission of Allah that He might make evident the [true] believers (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 166)Tafsir
وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِيْنَ نَافَقُوْا ۖوَقِيْلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا قَاتِلُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ اَوِ ادْفَعُوْا ۗ قَالُوْا لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّاتَّبَعْنٰكُمْ ۗ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ اَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْاِيْمَانِ ۚ يَقُوْلُوْنَ بِاَفْوَاهِهِمْ مَّا لَيْسَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُوْنَۚ ١٦٧
- waliyaʿlama
- وَلِيَعْلَمَ
- And that He (might) make evident
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- nāfaqū
- نَافَقُوا۟ۚ
- (are) hypocrites
- waqīla
- وَقِيلَ
- And it was said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- taʿālaw
- تَعَالَوْا۟
- "Come
- qātilū
- قَٰتِلُوا۟
- fight
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- awi
- أَوِ
- or
- id'faʿū
- ٱدْفَعُوا۟ۖ
- defend"
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- law
- لَوْ
- "If
- naʿlamu
- نَعْلَمُ
- we knew
- qitālan
- قِتَالًا
- fighting
- la-ittabaʿnākum
- لَّٱتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْۗ
- certainly we (would have) followed you"
- hum
- هُمْ
- They -
- lil'kuf'ri
- لِلْكُفْرِ
- to disbelief
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that day
- aqrabu
- أَقْرَبُ
- (were) nearer
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- than [them]
- lil'īmāni
- لِلْإِيمَٰنِۚ
- to the faith
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- saying
- bi-afwāhihim
- بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم
- with their mouths
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- laysa
- لَيْسَ
- was not
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْۗ
- their hearts
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- (is) Most Knowing
- bimā
- بِمَا
- (of) what
- yaktumūna
- يَكْتُمُونَ
- they conceal
And that He might make evident those who are hypocrites. For it was said to them, "Come, fight in the way of Allah or [at least] defend." They said, "If we had known [there would be] battle, we would have followed you." They were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most knowing of what they conceal . (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 167)Tafsir
اَلَّذِيْنَ قَالُوْا لِاِخْوَانِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوْا لَوْ اَطَاعُوْنَا مَا قُتِلُوْا ۗ قُلْ فَادْرَءُوْا عَنْ اَنْفُسِكُمُ الْمَوْتَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ١٦٨
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those who
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- said
- li-ikh'wānihim
- لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ
- about their brothers
- waqaʿadū
- وَقَعَدُوا۟
- while they sat
- law
- لَوْ
- "If
- aṭāʿūnā
- أَطَاعُونَا
- they (had) obeyed us
- mā
- مَا
- not
- qutilū
- قُتِلُوا۟ۗ
- they would have been killed"
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- fa-id'raū
- فَٱدْرَءُوا۟
- "Then avert
- ʿan
- عَنْ
- from
- anfusikumu
- أَنفُسِكُمُ
- yourselves
- l-mawta
- ٱلْمَوْتَ
- [the] death
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you are
- ṣādiqīna
- صَٰدِقِينَ
- truthful
Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful." (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 168)Tafsir
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ قُتِلُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ اَمْوَاتًا ۗ بَلْ اَحْيَاۤءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُوْنَۙ ١٦٩
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- taḥsabanna
- تَحْسَبَنَّ
- think
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- qutilū
- قُتِلُوا۟
- are killed
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- amwātan
- أَمْوَٰتًۢاۚ
- (as) dead
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay!
- aḥyāon
- أَحْيَآءٌ
- They are alive
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- near
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- their Lord;
- yur'zaqūna
- يُرْزَقُونَ
- they are given provision
And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 169)Tafsir
فَرِحِيْنَ بِمَآ اٰتٰىهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهٖۙ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُوْنَ بِالَّذِيْنَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوْا بِهِمْ مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ ۙ اَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَۘ ١٧٠
- fariḥīna
- فَرِحِينَ
- Rejoicing
- bimā
- بِمَآ
- in what
- ātāhumu
- ءَاتَىٰهُمُ
- bestowed them
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- min
- مِن
- of
- faḍlihi
- فَضْلِهِۦ
- His Bounty
- wayastabshirūna
- وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
- and they receive good tidings
- bi-alladhīna
- بِٱلَّذِينَ
- about those who
- lam
- لَمْ
- (have) not
- yalḥaqū
- يَلْحَقُوا۟
- yet joined
- bihim
- بِهِم
- [with] them
- min
- مِّنْ
- [from]
- khalfihim
- خَلْفِهِمْ
- (but are) left behind
- allā
- أَلَّا
- that (there will be) no
- khawfun
- خَوْفٌ
- fear
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- on them
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- yaḥzanūna
- يَحْزَنُونَ
- will grieve
Rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those [to be martyred] after them who have not yet joined them – that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 170)Tafsir
