131

وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِيْٓ اُعِدَّتْ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ ۚ ١٣١

wa-ittaqū
وَٱتَّقُوا۟
And fear
l-nāra
ٱلنَّارَ
the Fire
allatī
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
uʿiddat
أُعِدَّتْ
is prepared
lil'kāfirīna
لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 131)
Tafsir
132

وَاَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُوْنَۚ ١٣٢

wa-aṭīʿū
وَأَطِيعُوا۟
And obey
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
wal-rasūla
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
and the Messenger
laʿallakum
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
tur'ḥamūna
تُرْحَمُونَ
receive mercy
And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 132)
Tafsir
133

۞ وَسَارِعُوْٓا اِلٰى مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمٰوٰتُ وَالْاَرْضُۙ اُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَۙ ١٣٣

wasāriʿū
وَسَارِعُوٓا۟
And hasten
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
maghfiratin
مَغْفِرَةٍ
forgiveness
min
مِّن
from
rabbikum
رَّبِّكُمْ
your Lord
wajannatin
وَجَنَّةٍ
and a Garden -
ʿarḍuhā
عَرْضُهَا
its width
l-samāwātu
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
(is like that of) the heavens
wal-arḍu
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
and the earth
uʿiddat
أُعِدَّتْ
prepared
lil'muttaqīna
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
for the pious
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden [i.e., Paradise] as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 133)
Tafsir
134

الَّذِيْنَ يُنْفِقُوْنَ فِى السَّرَّۤاءِ وَالضَّرَّۤاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِيْنَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِيْنَ عَنِ النَّاسِۗ وَاللّٰهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَۚ ١٣٤

alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
yunfiqūna
يُنفِقُونَ
spend
فِى
in
l-sarāi
ٱلسَّرَّآءِ
[the] ease
wal-ḍarāi
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
and (in) the hardship
wal-kāẓimīna
وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ
and those who restrain
l-ghayẓa
ٱلْغَيْظَ
the anger
wal-ʿāfīna
وَٱلْعَافِينَ
and those who pardon
ʿani
عَنِ
[from]
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِۗ
the people -
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
and Allah
yuḥibbu
يُحِبُّ
loves
l-muḥ'sinīna
ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
the good-doers
Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people – and Allah loves the doers of good; (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 134)
Tafsir
135

وَالَّذِيْنَ اِذَا فَعَلُوْا فَاحِشَةً اَوْ ظَلَمُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللّٰهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوْا لِذُنُوْبِهِمْۗ وَمَنْ يَّغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ ۗ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوْا عَلٰى مَا فَعَلُوْا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٣٥

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those
idhā
إِذَا
when
faʿalū
فَعَلُوا۟
they did
fāḥishatan
فَٰحِشَةً
immorality
aw
أَوْ
or
ẓalamū
ظَلَمُوٓا۟
wronged
anfusahum
أَنفُسَهُمْ
themselves -
dhakarū
ذَكَرُوا۟
they remember
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
fa-is'taghfarū
فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟
then ask forgiveness
lidhunūbihim
لِذُنُوبِهِمْ
for their sins -
waman
وَمَن
and who
yaghfiru
يَغْفِرُ
(can) forgive
l-dhunūba
ٱلذُّنُوبَ
the sins
illā
إِلَّا
except
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah?
walam
وَلَمْ
And not
yuṣirrū
يُصِرُّوا۟
they persist
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
مَا
what
faʿalū
فَعَلُوا۟
they did
wahum
وَهُمْ
while they
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
know
And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allah? – and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 135)
Tafsir
136

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ جَزَاۤؤُهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنّٰتٌ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ۗ وَنِعْمَ اَجْرُ الْعٰمِلِيْنَۗ ١٣٦

ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those -
jazāuhum
جَزَآؤُهُم
their reward
maghfiratun
مَّغْفِرَةٌ
(is) forgiveness
min
مِّن
from
rabbihim
رَّبِّهِمْ
their Lord
wajannātun
وَجَنَّٰتٌ
and Gardens
tajrī
تَجْرِى
flows
min
مِن
from
taḥtihā
تَحْتِهَا
underneath it
l-anhāru
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
the rivers
khālidīna
خَٰلِدِينَ
abiding forever
fīhā
فِيهَاۚ
in it
waniʿ'ma
وَنِعْمَ
And an excellent
ajru
أَجْرُ
reward
l-ʿāmilīna
ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ
(for) the (righteous) workers
Those – their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 136)
Tafsir
137

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌۙ فَسِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ١٣٧

qad
قَدْ
Verily
khalat
خَلَتْ
passed
min
مِن
from
qablikum
قَبْلِكُمْ
before you
sunanun
سُنَنٌ
situations
fasīrū
فَسِيرُوا۟
then travel
فِى
in
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth
fa-unẓurū
فَٱنظُرُوا۟
and see
kayfa
كَيْفَ
how
kāna
كَانَ
was
ʿāqibatu
عَٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
l-mukadhibīna
ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
(of) the deniers
Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 137)
Tafsir
138

هٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَّمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِيْنَ ١٣٨

hādhā
هَٰذَا
This
bayānun
بَيَانٌ
(is) a declaration
lilnnāsi
لِّلنَّاسِ
for the people
wahudan
وَهُدًى
and guidance
wamawʿiẓatun
وَمَوْعِظَةٌ
and admonition
lil'muttaqīna
لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
for the God-fearing
This [Quran] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allah. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 138)
Tafsir
139

وَلَا تَهِنُوْا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوْا وَاَنْتُمُ الْاَعْلَوْنَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ١٣٩

walā
وَلَا
And (do) not
tahinū
تَهِنُوا۟
weaken
walā
وَلَا
and (do) not
taḥzanū
تَحْزَنُوا۟
grieve
wa-antumu
وَأَنتُمُ
and you (will be)
l-aʿlawna
ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ
[the] superior
in
إِن
if
kuntum
كُنتُم
you are
mu'minīna
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
believers
So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers. (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 139)
Tafsir
140

اِنْ يَّمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهٗ ۗوَتِلْكَ الْاَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِۚ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنْكُمْ شُهَدَاۤءَ ۗوَاللّٰهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظّٰلِمِيْنَۙ ١٤٠

in
إِن
If
yamsaskum
يَمْسَسْكُمْ
touched you
qarḥun
قَرْحٌ
a wound
faqad
فَقَدْ
so certainly
massa
مَسَّ
(has) touched
l-qawma
ٱلْقَوْمَ
the people
qarḥun
قَرْحٌ
wound
mith'luhu
مِّثْلُهُۥۚ
like it
watil'ka
وَتِلْكَ
And this
l-ayāmu
ٱلْأَيَّامُ
[the] days
nudāwiluhā
نُدَاوِلُهَا
We alternate them
bayna
بَيْنَ
among
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
waliyaʿlama
وَلِيَعْلَمَ
[and] so that makes evident
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe[d]
wayattakhidha
وَيَتَّخِذَ
and take
minkum
مِنكُمْ
from you
shuhadāa
شُهَدَآءَۗ
martyrs
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
لَا
(does) not
yuḥibbu
يُحِبُّ
love
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
If a wound should touch you – there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs – and Allah does not like the wrongdoers – (QS. [3] Ali 'Imran: 140)
