Al-Qur'an Surah Al-'Ankabut Verse 61
Al-'Ankabut [29]: 61 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَلَىِٕنْ سَاَلْتَهُمْ مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُوْلُنَّ اللّٰهُ ۗفَاَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُوْنَ (العنكبوت : ٢٩)
- wala-in
- وَلَئِن
- And if
- sa-altahum
- سَأَلْتَهُم
- you ask them
- man
- مَّنْ
- "Who
- khalaqa
- خَلَقَ
- created
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍa
- وَٱلْأَرْضَ
- and the earth
- wasakhara
- وَسَخَّرَ
- and subjected
- l-shamsa
- ٱلشَّمْسَ
- the sun
- wal-qamara
- وَٱلْقَمَرَ
- and the moon?"
- layaqūlunna
- لَيَقُولُنَّ
- Surely they would say
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۖ
- "Allah"
- fa-annā
- فَأَنَّىٰ
- Then how
- yu'fakūna
- يُؤْفَكُونَ
- are they deluded?
Transliteration:
Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa sakhkharash shamsa wal qamara la yaqoolunnal laahu fa ann yu'fakoon(QS. al-ʿAnkabūt:61)
English / Sahih Translation:
If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded? (QS. Al-'Ankabut, ayah 61)

If you ask them as to who has created the heavens and the earth and has subjugated the sun and the moon, they will certainly say, “Allah”. How then are they driven aback (by their whims?)

If you ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth, and made the sun and the moon subservient to His order (thereby sustaining life)?" they will most certainly say, "God." How then are they (who oppose this Revelation) turned away from the truth and make false claims?

In case you ask them, `Who has created the heavens and the earth and harnessed the sun and the moon (into the service of mankind)?´ They will answer, `Allâh.´ Then whither are they being turned away (from accepting the truth).
English Literal
And if (E) you asked/questioned them: "Who created the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, and subjugated for you the sun and the moon?" They will say (E): "God ." So where/how (would) they be turned away ?

And if (wa-la-in; the lm is for oaths) you were to ask them, namely, the disbelievers, `Who created the heavens and the earth and disposed the sun and the moon?' They would assuredly say, `God.' So how then are they turned away?, from affirming His Oneness after affirming that [God created them].

Evidences of Tawhid
Allah says;
وَلَيِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالاَْرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ فَأَنَّى يُوْفَكُونَ
اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
