Al-'Ankabut [29]: 38 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَعَادًا وَّثَمُوْدَا۟ وَقَدْ تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ مَّسٰكِنِهِمْۗ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيْلِ وَكَانُوْا مُسْتَبْصِرِيْنَ ۙ (العنكبوت : ٢٩)

- وَعَادًا
- And Aad
- wathamūdā
- وَثَمُودَا۟
- and Thamud
- waqad
- وَقَد
- and verily
- tabayyana
- تَّبَيَّنَ
- (has) become clear
- lakum
- لَكُم
- to you
- min
- مِّن
- from
- masākinihim
- مَّسَٰكِنِهِمْۖ
- their dwellings
- wazayyana
- وَزَيَّنَ
- And made fair-seeming
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- to them
- l-shayṭānu
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
- the Shaitaan
- aʿmālahum
- أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ
- their deeds
- faṣaddahum
- فَصَدَّهُمْ
- and averted them
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- from
- l-sabīli
- ٱلسَّبِيلِ
- the Way
- wakānū
- وَكَانُوا۟
- though they were
- mus'tabṣirīna
- مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
- endowed with insight
Transliteration:
Wa 'Aadanw wa Samooda wa qat tabaiyana lakum mim masaakinihim wa zaiyana lahumush Shaitaanu a'maalahum fasaddahum 'anis sabeeli wa kaanoo mustabsireen(QS. al-ʿAnkabūt:38)
English / Sahih Translation:
And [We destroyed] Aad and Thamud, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception. (QS. Al-'Ankabut, ayah 38)

And (We destroyed) ‘Ād and Thamūd, and it is visible to you through their dwellings. And the Satan had beautified for them their deeds, so he prevented them from the (right) way, even though they were people of insight.

And the people of ’Ȃd and Thamûd ˹met a similar fate˺, which must be clear to you ˹Meccans˺ from their ruins.[[ Meccan caravans always passed by these ruins on the way to Yemen and Syria for business. ]] Satan made their ˹evil˺ deeds appealing to them, hindering them from the ˹Right˺ Way, although they were capable of reasoning.

And [We destroyed] ‘Ād and Thamūd, which is clear to you from their ruined dwellings. Satan made their deeds appealing to them and averted them from the right way, although they were a people of perception.

And Aad , and Thamud , and had been clarified/shown/explained to you from their residences, and the devil decorated/beautified for them their deeds , so he prevented/obstructed them from the road/path and they were seeing/knowing/understanding.

The same happened to the tribes of 'Ad and Thamud: this must be clear to you from their ruins. Satan made their actions seem good to them, and turned them away from the straight path, even though they were intelligent people.

And Aad and Thamood. It has become clear to you from their dwellings. Satan embellished for them their deeds, barring them from the path, even though they could see.
Tafsir jalalayn
And, We destroyed, `d, and Thamd (may be fully declined, or not [as diptotes], denoting both the district or the tribe [respectively])-- it is indeed evident to you, their destruction, from their [former] dwellings, in al-Hijr and in Yemen. For Satan adorned for them their deeds, of disbelief and disobedience, and thus barred them from the Way, the way of truth, though they had been discerning, perceptive people.

The Destruction of Nations Who rejected Their Messengers
Allah tells;
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَاكِنِهِمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَلَقَدْ جَاءهُم مُّوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الاَْرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ
