Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Qasas Verse 67

Al-Qasas [28]: 67 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَاَمَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَاٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِيْنَ (القصص : ٢٨)

fa-ammā
فَأَمَّا
But as for
man
مَن
(him) who
tāba
تَابَ
repented
waāmana
وَءَامَنَ
and believed
waʿamila
وَعَمِلَ
and did
ṣāliḥan
صَٰلِحًا
righteousness
faʿasā
فَعَسَىٰٓ
then perhaps
an
أَن
[that]
yakūna
يَكُونَ
he will be
mina
مِنَ
of
l-muf'liḥīna
ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ
the successful ones

Transliteration:

Fa ammaa man taaba wa aamana wa 'amila saalihan fa'asaaa ai yakoona minal mufliheen (QS. al-Q̈aṣaṣ:67)

English / Sahih Translation:

But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is expected [i.e., promised by Allah] that he will be among the successful. (QS. Al-Qasas, ayah 67)

As for the one who repents and becomes a believer and acts righteously, hopefully he will be among the successful.

But as for him who repents, of idolatry, and believes, in the affirmation of God's Oneness, and acts righteously, he observes the duties [of religion], maybe he will be among the successful, those delivered according to God's promise.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا

But as for him who repented, believed, and did righteous deeds,

means, in this world.

فَعَسَى أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِينَ



then perhaps he will be among those who are successful.

means, on the Day of Resurrection.

And the word; perhaps (`Asa), when used in reference to Allah, may He be exalted, implies that the thing described will inevitably come to pass, and this will undoubtedly happen by the grace and mercy of Allah
