Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Qasas Verse 37

Al-Qasas [28]: 37 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَقَالَ مُوْسٰى رَبِّيْٓ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالْهُدٰى مِنْ عِنْدِهٖ وَمَنْ تَكُوْنُ لَهٗ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِۗ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ (القصص : ٢٨)

waqāla
وَقَالَ
And Musa said
mūsā
مُوسَىٰ
And Musa said
rabbī
رَبِّىٓ
"My Lord
aʿlamu
أَعْلَمُ
knows best
biman
بِمَن
of who
jāa
جَآءَ
has come
bil-hudā
بِٱلْهُدَىٰ
with [the] guidance
min
مِنْ
from Him
ʿindihi
عِندِهِۦ
from Him
waman
وَمَن
and who
takūnu
تَكُونُ
will be
lahu
لَهُۥ
for him
ʿāqibatu
عَٰقِبَةُ
the good end in the Hereafter
l-dāri
ٱلدَّارِۖ
the good end in the Hereafter
innahu
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed
لَا
not
yuf'liḥu
يُفْلِحُ
will be successful
l-ẓālimūna
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
the wrongdoers"

Transliteration:

Wa qaala Moosaa Rabbeee a'alamu biman jaaa'a bilhudaa min 'indihee wa man takoonu lahoo 'aaqibatud daari innahoo laa yuflihuz zaalimoon (QS. al-Q̈aṣaṣ:37)

English / Sahih Translation:

And Moses said, "My Lord is more knowing [than we or you] of who has come with guidance from Him and to whom will be succession in the home. Indeed, wrongdoers do not succeed." (QS. Al-Qasas, ayah 37)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

Mūsā said, “My Lord is best aware of the one who has brought guidance from Him and who is going to meet the best end of the abode. It is certain that the wrongdoers will not succeed.”

Moses responded, “My Lord knows best who has come with ˹true˺ guidance from Him and will fare best in the end. Indeed, the wrongdoers will never succeed.”

Moses said; "My Lord knows best who it is that comes with guidance from Him and whose end will be best in the Hereafter; certain it is that the wrong-doers will not prosper."

Moses replied: "My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him, and also whose end will be the best in the Hereafter. As for the wrongdoers, they shall not prosper."

But Moses said: "My Lord knows well who has come with guidance from Him, and for whom is the guerdon of Paradise. But surely the wicked will not prosper."

And said Moosa, “My Lord well knows him who has brought guidance from Him, and for whom will be the abode the Hereafter; indeed the unjust never attain success.”

Moses said, ‘My Lord knows best who brings guidance from Him, and in whose favour the outcome of that abode will be. The wrongdoers will not be felicitous.’

(Moses) said: "My Lord knows best who has come with the true guidance from Him, and to whom the ultimate abode of happiness will belong (both in the world and in the Hereafter). Surely, the wrongdoers do not prosper, (nor attain their goals)."

And Moses said, `My Lord knows best who it is that has brought true guidance from Him, and who shall meet a good end in this world (and will have the reward of final abode in the Hereafter). The truth is that these wrongdoers shall never prosper.´

English Literal

And Moses said: "My Lord (is) more knowledgeable with (about) who came with the guidance from at Him, and who the house`s/home`s end/turn (result) be for him; that He does not make the unjust/oppressive succeed/win."

Faridul Haque

And said Moosa, “My Lord well knows him who has brought guidance from Him, and for whom will be the abode the Hereafter; indeed the unjust never attain success.”

Hamid S. Aziz

And when Moses came to them with Our manifest signs, they said, "This is naught but invented magic; we have not heard of this amongst our forefathers."

Musa (Moses) said: "My Lord knows best him who came with guidance from Him, and whose will be the happy end in the Hereafter. Verily, the Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) will not be successful."

He said: We will strengthen thine arm with thy brother, and We will give you both an authority, so that they shall not reach you. With Our signs, you two and those who follow you, will triumph.

And Musa said: My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him, and whose shall be the good end of the abode; surely the unjust shall not be successful.

And Moses said: My Lord is Best Aware of him who bringeth guidance from His presence, and whose will be the sequel of the Home (of bliss). Lo! wrong-doers will not be successful.

Moses said, "My Lord knows best who has received guidance from Him and who will achieve a happy end. The unjust ones certainly will have no happiness."

Moses replied: 'My Lord knows well who brings guidance from Him and who shall possess the Last Residence. The harmdoers will not prosper'

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Musa said: "My Lord knows best him who came with guidance from Him, and whose will be the happy end in the Hereafter. Verily, the wrongdoers will not be successful."

Wahiduddin Khan

And Moses replied, "My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him and who will attain the heavenly abode in the hereafter. The wrongdoers shall never prosper."

Talal Itani

Moses said, “My Lord is well aware of him who brings guidance from Him, and him who will have the sequel of the abode. The wrongdoers will not succeed.”

Tafsir jalalayn

And Moses said, (wa-qla, or qla, without the `and') `My Lord knows best who brings guidance from Him (the suffixed pronoun [in `indihi] refers to the Lord) and whose (man here is a supplement to the previous man) will be (read takna or yakna) the sequel of the [Blissful] Abode, that is to say, the praiseworthy sequel in the Abode of the Hereafter, in other words, it is I [Moses], in both cases, and I speak truthfully in what I have brought [you]. Truly the evildoers, the disbelievers, will not be successful'.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَقَالَ مُوسَى


Musa said;

Musa said in response to them;

رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَن جَاء بِالْهُدَى مِنْ عِندِهِ


My Lord knows best him who came with guidance from Him,

meaning, `of me and you, and He will decide between me and you.'

So he said;

وَمَن تَكُونُ لَهُ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِ

and whose will be the happy end in the Hereafter.

meaning, who will be supported and will prevail.

إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ



Verily, the wrongdoers will not be successful.

refers to the idolators who associate others in worship with Allah
