قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكُمُ الَّيْلَ سَرْمَدًا اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ مَنْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللّٰهِ يَأْتِيْكُمْ بِضِيَاۤءٍ ۗ اَفَلَا تَسْمَعُوْنَ ٧١

- Say
- ara-aytum
- أَرَءَيْتُمْ
- "Have you seen
- in
- إِن
- if
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- Allah made
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah made
- ʿalaykumu
- عَلَيْكُمُ
- for you
- al-layla
- ٱلَّيْلَ
- the night
- sarmadan
- سَرْمَدًا
- continuous
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- till
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- (the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) the Resurrection
- man
- مَنْ
- who
- ilāhun
- إِلَٰهٌ
- (is the) god
- ghayru
- غَيْرُ
- besides
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- yatīkum
- يَأْتِيكُم
- who could bring you
- biḍiyāin
- بِضِيَآءٍۖ
- light?
- afalā
- أَفَلَا
- Then will not
- tasmaʿūna
- تَسْمَعُونَ
- you hear?"
Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?" (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 71)Tafsir
قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ مَنْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللّٰهِ يَأْتِيْكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُوْنَ فِيْهِ ۗ اَفَلَا تُبْصِرُوْنَ ٧٢

- Say
- ara-aytum

- "Have you seen

- إِن

- جَعَلَ
- Allah made
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah made
- ʿalaykumu
- عَلَيْكُمُ
- for you
- l-nahāra
- ٱلنَّهَارَ
- the day
- sarmadan
- سَرْمَدًا
- continuous
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- till
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- (the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) the Resurrection
- man
- مَنْ
- who
- ilāhun
- إِلَٰهٌ
- (is the) god
- ghayru
- غَيْرُ
- besides
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- yatīkum
- يَأْتِيكُم
- who could bring you
- bilaylin
- بِلَيْلٍ
- night
- taskunūna
- تَسْكُنُونَ
- (for) you (to) rest
- fīhi
- فِيهِۖ
- in it?
- afalā
- أَفَلَا
- Then will not
- tub'ṣirūna
- تُبْصِرُونَ
- you see?"
Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not see?" (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 72)Tafsir
وَمِنْ رَّحْمَتِهٖ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوْا فِيْهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ ٧٣
- wamin
- وَمِن
- And from
- raḥmatihi
- رَّحْمَتِهِۦ
- His Mercy
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- He made
- lakumu
- لَكُمُ
- for you
- al-layla
- ٱلَّيْلَ
- the night
- wal-nahāra
- وَٱلنَّهَارَ
- and the day
- litaskunū
- لِتَسْكُنُوا۟
- that you may rest
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- therein
- walitabtaghū
- وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟
- and that you may seek
- min
- مِن
- from
- faḍlihi
- فَضْلِهِۦ
- His Bounty
- walaʿallakum
- وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
- and so that you may
- tashkurūna
- تَشْكُرُونَ
- be grateful
And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 73)Tafsir
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْهِمْ فَيَقُوْلُ اَيْنَ شُرَكَاۤءِيَ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْنَ ٧٤
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- And (the) Day
- yunādīhim
- يُنَادِيهِمْ
- He will call them
- fayaqūlu
- فَيَقُولُ
- and say
- ayna
- أَيْنَ
- "Where
- shurakāiya
- شُرَكَآءِىَ
- (are) My partners
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- whom
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- tazʿumūna
- تَزْعُمُونَ
- claim?"
And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim?" (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 74)Tafsir
وَنَزَعْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍ شَهِيْدًا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوْا بُرْهَانَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوْٓا اَنَّ الْحَقَّ لِلّٰهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَفْتَرُوْنَ ࣖ ٧٥
- wanazaʿnā
- وَنَزَعْنَا
- And We will draw forth
- min
- مِن
- from
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- ummatin
- أُمَّةٍ
- nation
- shahīdan
- شَهِيدًا
- a witness
- faqul'nā
- فَقُلْنَا
- and We will say
- hātū
- هَاتُوا۟
- "Bring
- bur'hānakum
- بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ
- your proof?"
- faʿalimū
- فَعَلِمُوٓا۟
- Then they will know
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-ḥaqa
- ٱلْحَقَّ
- the truth
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- (is) for Allah
- waḍalla
- وَضَلَّ
- and (will be) lost
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُم
- from them
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- yaftarūna
- يَفْتَرُونَ
- invent
And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 75)Tafsir
۞ اِنَّ قَارُوْنَ كَانَ مِنْ قَوْمِ مُوْسٰى فَبَغٰى عَلَيْهِمْ ۖوَاٰتَيْنٰهُ مِنَ الْكُنُوْزِ مَآ اِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهٗ لَتَنُوْۤاُ بِالْعُصْبَةِ اُولِى الْقُوَّةِ اِذْ قَالَ لَهٗ قَوْمُهٗ لَا تَفْرَحْ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَرِحِيْنَ ٧٦
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- qārūna
- قَٰرُونَ
- Qarun
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- min
- مِن
- from
- qawmi
- قَوْمِ
- (the) people
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰ
- (of) Musa
- fabaghā
- فَبَغَىٰ
- but he oppressed
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۖ
- [on] them
- waātaynāhu
- وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ
- And We gave him
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-kunūzi
- ٱلْكُنُوزِ
- the treasures
- mā
- مَآ
- which
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- mafātiḥahu
- مَفَاتِحَهُۥ
- (the) keys of it
- latanūu
- لَتَنُوٓأُ
- would burden
- bil-ʿuṣ'bati
- بِٱلْعُصْبَةِ
- a company (of men)
- ulī
- أُو۟لِى
- possessors of great strength
- l-quwati
- ٱلْقُوَّةِ
- possessors of great strength
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- qāla
- قَالَ
- said
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to him
- qawmuhu
- قَوْمُهُۥ
- his people
- lā
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- tafraḥ
- تَفْرَحْۖ
- exult
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- love
- l-fariḥīna
- ٱلْفَرِحِينَ
- the exultant
Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, "Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 76)Tafsir
وَابْتَغِ فِيْمَآ اٰتٰىكَ اللّٰهُ الدَّارَ الْاٰخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيْبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَاَحْسِنْ كَمَآ اَحْسَنَ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْكَ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِى الْاَرْضِ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ٧٧
- wa-ib'taghi
- وَٱبْتَغِ
- But seek
- fīmā
- فِيمَآ
- through what
- ātāka
- ءَاتَىٰكَ
- Allah has given you
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah has given you
- l-dāra
- ٱلدَّارَ
- the home
- l-ākhirata
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةَۖ
- (of) the Hereafter
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tansa
- تَنسَ
- forget
- naṣībaka
- نَصِيبَكَ
- your share
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَاۖ
- the world
- wa-aḥsin
- وَأَحْسِن
- And do good
- kamā
- كَمَآ
- as
- aḥsana
- أَحْسَنَ
- Allah has been good
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah has been good
- ilayka
- إِلَيْكَۖ
- to you
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tabghi
- تَبْغِ
- seek
- l-fasāda
- ٱلْفَسَادَ
- corruption
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِۖ
- the earth
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- love
- l-muf'sidīna
- ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
- the corrupters"
But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters." (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 77)Tafsir
قَالَ اِنَّمَآ اُوْتِيْتُهٗ عَلٰى عِلْمٍ عِنْدِيْۗ اَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ قَدْ اَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ مِنَ الْقُرُوْنِ مَنْ هُوَ اَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَّاَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۗوَلَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ ذُنُوْبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ ٧٨

- قَالَ
- He said
- innamā
- إِنَّمَآ
- "Only
- ūtītuhu
- أُوتِيتُهُۥ
- I have been given it
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on (account)
- ʿil'min
- عِلْمٍ
- (of) knowledge
- ʿindī
- عِندِىٓۚ
- I have"
- awalam
- أَوَلَمْ
- Did not
- yaʿlam
- يَعْلَمْ
- he know
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- qad
- قَدْ
- indeed
- ahlaka
- أَهْلَكَ
- destroyed
- min
- مِن
- before him
- qablihi
- قَبْلِهِۦ
- before him
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-qurūni
- ٱلْقُرُونِ
- the generations
- man
- مَنْ
- who
- huwa
- هُوَ
- [they]
- ashaddu
- أَشَدُّ
- (were) stronger
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- than him
- quwwatan
- قُوَّةً
- (in) strength
- wa-aktharu
- وَأَكْثَرُ
- and greater
- jamʿan
- جَمْعًاۚ
- (in) accumulation
- walā
- وَلَا
- And not
- yus'alu
- يُسْـَٔلُ
- will be questioned
- ʿan
- عَن
- about
- dhunūbihimu
- ذُنُوبِهِمُ
- their sins
- l-muj'rimūna
- ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
- the criminals
He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 78)Tafsir
فَخَرَجَ عَلٰى قَوْمِهٖ فِيْ زِيْنَتِهٖ ۗقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ يُرِيْدُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا يٰلَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَآ اُوْتِيَ قَارُوْنُۙ اِنَّهٗ لَذُوْ حَظٍّ عَظِيْمٍ ٧٩
- fakharaja
- فَخَرَجَ
- So he went forth
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- qawmihi
- قَوْمِهِۦ
- his people
- fī
- فِى
- in
- zīnatihi
- زِينَتِهِۦۖ
- his adornment
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Said
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yurīdūna
- يُرِيدُونَ
- desire
- l-ḥayata
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
- the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- yālayta
- يَٰلَيْتَ
- "O! Would that
- lanā
- لَنَا
- for us
- mith'la
- مِثْلَ
- (the) like
- mā
- مَآ
- (of) what
- ūtiya
- أُوتِىَ
- has been given
- qārūnu
- قَٰرُونُ
- (to) Qarun
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed he
- ladhū
- لَذُو
- (is the) owner
- ḥaẓẓin
- حَظٍّ
- (of) fortune
- ʿaẓīmin
- عَظِيمٍ
- great"
So he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the worldly life said, "Oh, would that we had like what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune." (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 79)Tafsir
وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ اٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ۚوَلَا يُلَقّٰىهَآ اِلَّا الصّٰبِرُوْنَ ٨٠
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- But said
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ūtū
- أُوتُوا۟
- were given
- l-ʿil'ma
- ٱلْعِلْمَ
- the knowledge
- waylakum
- وَيْلَكُمْ
- "Woe to you!
- thawābu
- ثَوَابُ
- (The) reward
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- liman
- لِّمَنْ
- for (he) who
- āmana
- ءَامَنَ
- believes
- waʿamila
- وَعَمِلَ
- and does
- ṣāliḥan
- صَٰلِحًا
- righteous (deeds)
- walā
- وَلَا
- And not
- yulaqqāhā
- يُلَقَّىٰهَآ
- it is granted
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- l-ṣābirūna
- ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ
- (to) the patient ones"
But those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for he who believes and does righteousness. And none are granted it except the patient." (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 80)Tafsir
