Al-Qur'an Surah An-Naml Verse 81
An-Naml [27]: 81 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَمَآ اَنْتَ بِهٰدِى الْعُمْيِ عَنْ ضَلٰلَتِهِمْۗ اِنْ تُسْمِعُ اِلَّا مَنْ يُّؤْمِنُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَهُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ (النمل : ٢٧)

- And not

- أَنتَ
- (can) you
- bihādī
- بِهَٰدِى
- guide
- l-ʿum'yi
- ٱلْعُمْىِ
- the blind
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- ḍalālatihim
- ضَلَٰلَتِهِمْۖ
- their error
- in
- إِن
- Not
- tus'miʿu
- تُسْمِعُ
- you can cause to hear
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- man
- مَن
- (those) who
- yu'minu
- يُؤْمِنُ
- believe
- biāyātinā
- بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
- in Our Signs
- fahum
- فَهُم
- so they
- mus'limūna
- مُّسْلِمُونَ
- (are) Muslims
Transliteration:
Wa maaa anta bihaadil 'umyi 'an dalaalatihim in tusmi'u illaa mai yu'minu bi aayaatinaa fahum muslimoon(QS. an-Naml:81)
English / Sahih Translation:
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [i.e., submitting to Allah]. (QS. An-Naml, ayah 81)

nor can you show the right path to the blind against their wandering astray. You can make no one to listen (to you) except those who believe in Our verses, then submit themselves (to Allah).

And you are not (capable) with guiding the blind/confused from their misguidance, that truly you make (to) hear/listen except who believes with Our verses/evidence/signs, so they are Moslems/submitters .

nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs. Nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can only make to hear those who believe in Our Ayat, so they submit (became Muslims).
meaning, those who have hearing and insight will respond to you, those whose hearing and sight are of benefit to their hearts and who are humble towards Allah and to the Message that comes to them through the mouths of the Messengers, may peace be upon them
