Al-Qur'an Surah Ash-Shu'ara Verse 60

Ash-Shu'ara [26]: 60 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَاَتْبَعُوْهُمْ مُّشْرِقِيْنَ (الشعراء : ٢٦)

fa-atbaʿūhum
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم
So they followed them
mush'riqīna
مُّشْرِقِينَ
(at) sunrise

Transliteration:

Fa atba'oohum mushriqeen (QS. aš-Šuʿarāʾ:60)

English / Sahih Translation:

So they pursued them at sunrise. (QS. Ash-Shu'ara, ayah 60)

So they (the people of Pharaoh) pursued them (the people of Mūsā) at the time of sunrise.

Fir`awn's Pursuit and Expulsion of the Children of Israel, and how He and His People were drowned

More than one of the scholars of Tafsir said that Fir`awn set out with a huge group, a group containing the leaders and entire government of Egypt at that time, i.e., the decision-makers and influential figures, princes, ministers, nobles, leaders and soldiers.

Allah tells;

فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ



So, they pursued them at sunrise.

means, they caught up with the Children of Israel at sunrise
