Al-Qur'an Surah Ash-Shu'ara Verse 188

Ash-Shu'ara [26]: 188 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

قَالَ رَبِّيْٓ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ (الشعراء : ٢٦)

Transliteration:

Qaala Rabbeee a'lamu bimaa ta'maloon (QS. aš-Šuʿarāʾ:188)

English / Sahih Translation:

He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." (QS. Ash-Shu'ara, ayah 188)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

He said, “My Lord knows well what you do.”

Tafsir jalalayn

He said, `My Lord knows best what you are doing', and will requite you for it.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

He said;"My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do."

means, `Allah knows best about you, and if you deserve that, He will punish you therewith, and He will not treat you unjustly.'

So this is what happened to them -- as they asked for -- an exact recompense.

Allah says;

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ

إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
