قَالُوْا نَعْبُدُ اَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عٰكِفِيْنَ ٧١
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- naʿbudu
- نَعْبُدُ
- "We worship
- aṣnāman
- أَصْنَامًا
- idols
- fanaẓallu
- فَنَظَلُّ
- so we will remain
- lahā
- لَهَا
- to them
- ʿākifīna
- عَٰكِفِينَ
- devoted"
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 71)Tafsir
72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُوْنَكُمْ اِذْ تَدْعُوْنَ ۙ ٧٢
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- hal
- هَلْ
- "Do
- yasmaʿūnakum
- يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ
- they hear you
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- tadʿūna
- تَدْعُونَ
- you call?
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 72)Tafsir
73
اَوْ يَنْفَعُوْنَكُمْ اَوْ يَضُرُّوْنَ ٧٣
- aw
- أَوْ
- Or
- yanfaʿūnakum
- يَنفَعُونَكُمْ
- (do) they benefit you
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- yaḍurrūna
- يَضُرُّونَ
- they harm (you)?"
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 73)Tafsir
74
قَالُوْا بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ اٰبَاۤءَنَا كَذٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُوْنَ ٧٤
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- bal
- بَلْ
- "Nay
- wajadnā
- وَجَدْنَآ
- but we found
- ābāanā
- ءَابَآءَنَا
- our forefathers
- kadhālika
- كَذَٰلِكَ
- like that -
- yafʿalūna
- يَفْعَلُونَ
- doing"
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 74)Tafsir
75
قَالَ اَفَرَءَيْتُمْ مَّا كُنْتُمْ تَعْبُدُوْنَ ۙ ٧٥
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- afara-aytum
- أَفَرَءَيْتُم
- "Do you see
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you have been
- taʿbudūna
- تَعْبُدُونَ
- worshipping
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 75)Tafsir
76
اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَاۤؤُكُمُ الْاَقْدَمُوْنَ ۙ ٧٦
- antum
- أَنتُمْ
- You
- waābāukumu
- وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ
- and your forefathers
- l-aqdamūna
- ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
- and your forefathers
You and your ancient forefathers? (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 76)Tafsir
77
فَاِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّيْٓ اِلَّا رَبَّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۙ ٧٧
- fa-innahum
- فَإِنَّهُمْ
- Indeed they
- ʿaduwwun
- عَدُوٌّ
- (are) enemies
- lī
- لِّىٓ
- to me
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- rabba
- رَبَّ
- (the) Lord
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 77)Tafsir
78
الَّذِيْ خَلَقَنِيْ فَهُوَ يَهْدِيْنِ ۙ ٧٨
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- The One Who
- khalaqanī
- خَلَقَنِى
- created me
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- and He
- yahdīni
- يَهْدِينِ
- guides me
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 78)Tafsir
79
وَالَّذِيْ هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِيْ وَيَسْقِيْنِ ۙ ٧٩
- wa-alladhī
- وَٱلَّذِى
- And the One Who
- huwa
- هُوَ
- [He]
- yuṭ'ʿimunī
- يُطْعِمُنِى
- gives me food
- wayasqīni
- وَيَسْقِينِ
- and gives me drink
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 79)Tafsir
80
وَاِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِيْنِ ۙ ٨٠
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- mariḍ'tu
- مَرِضْتُ
- I am ill
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- then He
- yashfīni
- يَشْفِينِ
- cures me
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 80)Tafsir
