قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهٖٓ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٣١
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- fati
- فَأْتِ
- "Then bring
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓ
- it
- in
- إِن
- if
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you are
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-ṣādiqīna
- ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
- the truthful"
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 31)Tafsir
32
فَاَلْقٰى عَصَاهُ فَاِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ۚ ٣٢
- fa-alqā
- فَأَلْقَىٰ
- So he threw
- ʿaṣāhu
- عَصَاهُ
- his staff
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- and behold!
- hiya
- هِىَ
- It
- thuʿ'bānun
- ثُعْبَانٌ
- (was) a serpent
- mubīnun
- مُّبِينٌ
- manifest
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 32)Tafsir
33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهٗ فَاِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاۤءُ لِلنّٰظِرِيْنَ ࣖ ٣٣
- wanazaʿa
- وَنَزَعَ
- And he drew out
- yadahu
- يَدَهُۥ
- his hand
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- and behold!
- hiya
- هِىَ
- It
- bayḍāu
- بَيْضَآءُ
- (was) white
- lilnnāẓirīna
- لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
- for the observers
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 33)Tafsir
34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَاِ حَوْلَهٗٓ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَسٰحِرٌ عَلِيْمٌ ۙ ٣٤
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- lil'mala-i
- لِلْمَلَإِ
- to the chiefs
- ḥawlahu
- حَوْلَهُۥٓ
- around him
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- lasāḥirun
- لَسَٰحِرٌ
- (is) surely a magician
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- learned
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 34)Tafsir
35
يُّرِيْدُ اَنْ يُّخْرِجَكُمْ مِّنْ اَرْضِكُمْ بِسِحْرِهٖۖ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُوْنَ ٣٥
- yurīdu
- يُرِيدُ
- He wants
- an
- أَن
- to
- yukh'rijakum
- يُخْرِجَكُم
- drive you out
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- arḍikum
- أَرْضِكُم
- your land
- bisiḥ'rihi
- بِسِحْرِهِۦ
- by his magic
- famādhā
- فَمَاذَا
- so what
- tamurūna
- تَأْمُرُونَ
- (do) you advise?"
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?" (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 35)Tafsir
36
قَالُوْٓا اَرْجِهْ وَاَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِى الْمَدَاۤىِٕنِ حٰشِرِيْنَ ۙ ٣٦
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- arjih
- أَرْجِهْ
- "Post pone him
- wa-akhāhu
- وَأَخَاهُ
- and his brother
- wa-ib'ʿath
- وَٱبْعَثْ
- and send
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-madāini
- ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ
- the cities
- ḥāshirīna
- حَٰشِرِينَ
- gatherers -
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 36)Tafsir
37
يَأْتُوْكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيْمٍ ٣٧
- yatūka
- يَأْتُوكَ
- They (will) bring to you
- bikulli
- بِكُلِّ
- every
- saḥḥārin
- سَحَّارٍ
- magician
- ʿalīmin
- عَلِيمٍ
- learned"
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician." (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 37)Tafsir
38
فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيْقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ ۙ ٣٨
- fajumiʿa
- فَجُمِعَ
- So were assembled
- l-saḥaratu
- ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
- the magicians
- limīqāti
- لِمِيقَٰتِ
- for (the) appointment
- yawmin
- يَوْمٍ
- (on) a day
- maʿlūmin
- مَّعْلُومٍ
- well-known
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 38)Tafsir
39
وَّقِيْلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّجْتَمِعُوْنَ ۙ ٣٩
- waqīla
- وَقِيلَ
- And it was said
- lilnnāsi
- لِلنَّاسِ
- to the people
- hal
- هَلْ
- "Will
- antum
- أَنتُم
- you
- muj'tamiʿūna
- مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
- assemble
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate. (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 39)Tafsir
40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ اِنْ كَانُوْا هُمُ الْغٰلِبِيْنَ ٤٠
- laʿallanā
- لَعَلَّنَا
- That we may
- nattabiʿu
- نَتَّبِعُ
- follow
- l-saḥarata
- ٱلسَّحَرَةَ
- the magicians
- in
- إِن
- if
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they are
- humu
- هُمُ
- they are
- l-ghālibīna
- ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
- the victorious?"
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?" (QS. [26] Ash-Shu'ara: 40)Tafsir
